Secret Service Investigates Burning Of Obama Effigy
People in West Allis, Wisconsin were shouting and laughing as a bartender torched an Obama statue for the crowd. Now the Secret Service is investigating and the NAACP says it’s worried that the incident is ”racially motivated.” VIDEO >>
Television station TMJ interviewed several local residents, including one woman who said she was “disturbed” not only because Obama is a “Black President, but because he represents our country.”

TMJ went in-depth with the investigation, even trying to contact the bar owner to ask what the bartender ‘meant with the fire.’ When their message wasn’t returned at the bar, the station traveled to her house in New Berlin, cameras blazing, to knock on the door.

One wonders where this kind of investigative reporting and outrage was during the eight years of George W Bush’s presidency. Was TMJ equally disturbed in the early morning hours before President Obama’s inauguration when the video below was filmed – clearly showing an effigy of President Bush being burned by a laughing mob in the middle of the street in Adams Morgan?

The question must be asked, why is it alright to do such to the image of one president and not another? It is the right of the people to critize and speak out against its government and to speak out against its leaders, but this is getting bad, when it is looking like a double standard.

It's not alright to do it to an image of any president. Where did you get the idea that it was. I despised Bush but I still respected his office and to demean the presidency is just wrong.

Do you think the SS didn't investigate threats against Bush; even veiled threats?

Don't let your ideology get in the way of your common sense.
