I'm in Las Vegas, 3 miles from the srtip on Tropicana, and didn't feel anything. However, I'm from Florida and have only been here 1 year. Don't
know if I could tell the difference between a quake and the high winds we've been having for the last month.
Also, I'm on the 3rd floor of my apt. complex. Can anyone tell me if that should magnify or lessen the affects of a quake?
Well, since I only have computer access at work I got to this thread too late to get an answer. So simple physics says that a quake would be magnified
the higher up in a building you go. Right?
from Los Angeles to Phoenix its about 350 or so miles, or 575 km. And that's past some mountains, my friend.
Also past said mountains is Las Vegas which would be about 270 miles.
Now from the epicenter, or thereabouts, let's just say Baja:
Las Vegas: 272 miles
Phoenix: 210 miles
I live in the mountains in the north of L.A. County, right on top of the San Andreas fault, and I didn't feel a THING. Just seems odd that Phoenix
could feel it, but I couldn't. It's POSSIBLE that I was still hung over from the night before and that the quake TOOK AWAY my spins, though.
