I guess it depends on what they are using to bend the light - but maybe there would be some neat effects when the plane is viewed from certain perspectives?

Preston nichols always claimed the stealth aircrafts where already using electromagnetic energies to become invisible.

Who knows, but i would suggest that the tech has been around for a while now.
