If your in the uk you all probably know about the Alan Titchmarsh show. It's a talk show, where they talk about different subjects in a light hearted way.

Here we once again we see ignorant people who probably have never played a video game in their life, trying to say video games make you violent and full of hatred.

There was a guy on the show trying to defend video games, but he basically got gang attacked by the people who were against it lol, including some of the audience.

Anyone else getting fed up with all this negative media, mostly from people who are ignornant to the reality of it all? It's just funny.

Is it an age gap thing, a different generation? I'm not sure, because I know there are people over 50 who play video games too.

Anyway here check out the video and share your opinions.
I like the way Alan starts by mentioning all the games with violent sounding names. lol.

Video games are entertainment.
Video games do not promote violence.

If your child is 11 years old and you buy him a game rated 18+ inwhich you need ID to purchase, the PARENTS are to blame, not the game developers.

Thats all it is.
The games have an ESRB rating, if the parents choose to ignore it, so be it. Its like buying your 13 year old son porn (18+) then sueing the magazine publisher because your son is spending too much time in the bathroom.

retarded logic.

Most of these games aren't for kids and if parents want to buy them for their kids that's their problem. Such a double-standard with them defending film but saying video games are bad, with more immersive films coming in the future I wouldn't be surprised to a see a day when movies are more immersive than games and where the line between the two becomes blurred. If these stuck-up jerks were in charge everything would be censored, could you imagine a world like that, where creativity lives in a box and video games and films contained nothing but peaceful conflict.

Who in their right mind is watching Alan Titchmarsh and why should we care what these defectives think?

I've been playing video games since I was a wee toddler and I think the old fossil may have a point. Not a day goes by that I don't come home with pockets full of mushrooms and flowers, which I agree isn't a big deal, but it's invariably accompanied by the soles of my shoes being drenched in turtle blood. It's sad, really, but I guess I'm just damaged beyond repair.

I feel bad for the guy defending games, he is getting ripped apart. he brings up many valid points. I play video games im 17 and it hasn't changed me at all ha. It's up to parents to make sure their kids don't get a hold on the violent games.

LOL

Well said friend.

I've been playing them since I was a toddler too.

I'd rather kids be inside playing video games, than outside all the damn time and looking to stab random people and local gangs. Which is going on a lot down here in south london.

Totally see where your coming from, I also see the future becoming more interactive, more creative, more interesting.

The line between the two will become blurred.

If they tried to censor everything, we would all become unimaginative zombies. Did you see demolition man? lol the adults were like kids.

No I would surley prefer an imaginative future, full of creativity and freedom.
They basically want the opposite. What a crap world that would be.

p.s I'm still waiting for virtual reality dammit! (oh oh 4 posts in a row lol)

VIDEO GAMES MADE ME VERY VIOLENT when I was younger. Mortal Kombat would lead me and my brother to fighting. The problem is it isn't the states job to regulate this aside from a parental warning. When we got to fighting with each other my parents came in and beat the hell out of us with a belt. Perhaps he should take on a real problem in the world and that problem is divorce rates which lead to huge problems in alot of kids.

OMG titfacemarsh claims you can't stop kids going in a house to play violent games, yet you can stop them going into the cinema. The situation is identical because both games and movies are on DVD when released, and both have age certificates. Therefore if the shops adhere to the rules, it's the parents to blame, not the video game (or movie producer). DUH!

EPIC failure at trying to demonise games.

Left4dead is a great game, and zombies do not exist so only a retard like titmarsh would get upset over it.

Mad woman says:

"I am categorically against violence for entertainment, it's just wrong!"

*audience applauds*

Oh dear dear dear me..... did the tree-hugging brigade take over the studio....

Violence and war is part of human nature, to deny that is living in a fantasy world.

It's obviously better to watch violence or mimic violence than actually carry out those acts in reality.

The mad-woman is so arrogant she is basically wanting everything censored because that's her opinion. Sorry lady, but the censorship laws state these games are legal for 18+, so bugger off and stop apologising for the bad parents who aren't strict enough to prevent their kids playing violent games.

Sick of the ignorant and arrogant blaming anyone but the people who are actually responsible.

No offence Brittanies but this video proves your nation is primitive
its still in the dark ages, or way further down the road.

1.Video Games are now the subject of modern witch-hunt the same as CP Witch hunt, no offence those were offended if offended.

2.That women looks like as if shes totally brainwashed and confused while talking about civilians in video games, i may add something if i may? so what if they are are civilians in the video games, they aren't real.

3.Why is no one talking or discussing the movie industry? why i have never seen the worst action blood flims before even my members are shocked to these so called new zombie or horror flims and even have said the old 50s flims were better then the movies of today.

4.Again this was nothing more then a witch hunt.

As a future game designer i am very upset they did this.

LOL this video does not represent britain as a whole.

Britain is a big gaming country, and the USA is well known for demonising games too. So don't be a hypocrite ok.

Want to see the real nations views on video games? check the youtubes video replies and ratings from uk people lol.

Peace.

Alan Titchmarsh and Kelvin Mackenzie.

Now they just need to add Cliff Richard and Piers Morgan and I'll finally be able to cut off my ears and rip out my eyeballs like I always wanted to.

Wow, poor bastard really didn't have much of a chance did he?

It's kinda sad..

Let's recap however.

Parents are to blame for children getting their hands on violent video games.

My children had always played video games, every single one, once they were of age or proper maturity to understand the difference between entertainment and reality.

These critics are simply on the censorship ban wagon.

As everyone has pointed out, it's the parents fault.

Since time immortal lazy parents have looked for ways to put the blame for their own incompentency on other shoulders.

I remember when it was the evil heavy metal.

Gaming is my hobby, it's something my partner and I enjoy together. Should I have children I have no doubt that they will game with us. Obvisouly games appropriate for their age level, but as an adult I become really annoyed when when irresponsible parents begin shouting "ban it" because they don't want to do their job.

OK I just found out that the blonde woman in the video, Julie Peasgood actually has been a voice actress for a violent horror video game called Martian Gothic: Unification.

LOL how ironic is that!? What a hypocrite.

She has also wrote a book The greatest sex tips in the world, she's not exactly a nun herself haha.

Who says children of any age are entitled to be entertained by video games
or films or music for hours on end rather than doing their duties like
doing home work or some chores around the house ?

It is with many becoming an addiction that keeps them away from sports
and social contacts necessary for the development of their character.

Since it soon becomes an addiction they don´t know when to stop, nor are
their parents any more able to manage their kids´time in front of the
computer.

Most kids are playing and not learning. Our societies are already reaping
the results. Average education at end of school has so much dropped in
the last decades that most employers putting those video kids to employ-
ment tests complain about those kids´mental capacities.

For every country this lack of education has become a national concern
in competing globally.

What the heck is going on, when a kid after 8 years of primary schooling
cannot in the majority of cases shown on tv answer the question :
how many square meters is 1.00 x 1.50, especially when trying to become
a professional carpenter ?

After years and many hours of video games per day they are unable to
distinguish between virtual and reality. They are forgetting how much fun
it can be to compete on a sportsground or to participate in social activities.
