Iraq says it begins missile destruction

March 1 � Iraq destroyed four Al Samoud 2 missiles Saturday and agreed with the United Nations on a timetable to dismantle the rest of the missile program, Iraqi officials said. The United Nations could not immediately confirm the destruction. Chief arms inspector Hans Blix, who set the deadline for the missiles� destruction, has praised the Iraqi decision to comply with his order as �a very significant piece of real disarmament,� though Washington has dismissed the move as a trick that fell far short of U.N. demands....
