Helsinki time 12.50 - 10 minutes ago they all blackout - I cant get to Fars News, Press TV, or IRNA - seems that all of the Iranian newsrooms are in blackout at crucial moment, by whom?

Act of war, or what... Any success from anywhere - what is happening over there?

Same experience as tarifa37 here too. Fars News is the only one I find not responding at the moment.

Twitter: Reports that government forces have opened fire on protestors and 'First Martyrs today: Leyla Zarei - Age 27'

From Finland - still all mentioned news sites are down.

In my eyes we can see its cyber attack, and when LA times is giving latest video feeds and adress information to opposition members where to gather... Scary.

If someone can hook to Iranian press, and finds out interesting news - please copy/paste news to here, not just links!

Apparently the connection has been severed somewhere between Russia and Iran.

cant have those pesky web feeds if you are going to do something illegal and then claim to be the victim when you get hit in retaliation.

food for thought.

More likely this is a network problem and not a preamble to any sort of war. No reason to panic.

Israel cannot strike Iran because it wouldn't do any good, and would spark WW3 in which Israel would be annihilated.

I think maybe they just want to keep a lid on the bad press. It was supposed to be a day to show the world how unified their nation would be but as predicted it's gone belly up. I'm guessing this is just a fail safe plan.

If Israel was thinking about attacking Iran certainly wouldn't want them knowing that they are having a hard time controlling the public.

i have tried following the protests all night www.abovetopsecret.com...

This has been happening all day there. Most of the television there has been regulated, internet has been restricted , moble messaging has been cut off , images and videos altered.

First victim today Leyla Zarei , it is sad .

I'm in Holland and I can access all those sites fine... maybe the problem is solved by now? Could be a routing server that failed or something.

In war - "Control Media" - is the words.

Looks like PressTV has multiple routes and cannot shut down like IRNA and FARS, but still from Finland I can not link to it.

It can be West, so they can spread rumors from great rallies and opposition movements to make their "Human Rights" momentum - or its Iran, which is blocking those news to get out... Who can tell?

We have to folow bloggers and alternative news channels now.

YEP!!! NO MORE BLACKOUT!!!

Cant be no coincidense - Servers are up again, after excact 1 hour in blackout!

It begun in Finland 12.50 like mentioned before, and news opened again 13.50 Helsinki time...

So Blackout was up for exact one hour - Cyber attack - I have no proofs, but there is no other way!

This is clearly an act of censorship, not cyber warfare. It is no coincidence that PressTV, the govt controlled outlet is still accessible to the west while the more objective ones are not.

It is amazing to me that so many want to ignore the brutality of the Iranian govt. and seek to paint them as a victim in this drama.

From everyone on blogs/twitter/facebook what i understood is basically that this event was supposed to show Iran's unity to the outside world , only that when the government press arrived at square , green was everywhere therefore confusing them regarding what they should be recording and what they shouldn't.

People there say that they used some video altering program to take out the green. You can still clearly hear the protester's chants saying " Down with the dictator" and so on. So basically they started recording just certain areas with people in favor of the current regime and so on. They pretty much showed just what they wanted to show , nothing else
