US editor for Palestinian agency 'expelled from Israel'

news.bbc.co.uk

A US journalist with a Palestinian news agency has been expelled after Israel refused him entry and detained him for a week, the agency says.

But Israel's Interior Ministry says Jared Malsin made his own choice to leave, including dropping his legal bid to reverse the entry denial.

Maan, the news agency, has raised concerns that Mr Malsin's decision may have been made "under duress".

Israel denies claims that the entry denial was linked to Mr Malsin's work.

This journalist was detained and subsequently decided it was best to leave before something worse would happen to him; in essence, he was silenced.

Mr. Maan, a Jewish journalist, wrote some articles which were critical of Israel's policies. This is nothing less than a conspiracy to commit censorship of the press to keep the balance of reporters on the Israeli side.

What this means is that the press in Israel is not permitted to be free in reporting what they want. This, fellow ATS members, is not a democracy. Perhaps the US should go and "free" the people to install a "democratic" regime in Israel?

And, BTW, for the ones who are going to call me an anti-Semite, this is not a religious issue, it's a country's policy issue.

Peace,

What do you really expect? At least the journalist wasn't actually in Gaza, or else they might have simply shot him, or even blown him up with a tank.

Think that sounds crazy? Watch this video of IDF targeting a camera man from a LONG ways away and blowing him up with a shell.

Or this camera man being shot by snipers.

Excellent video.

Sad thing is that it has lost its Shock value , because this is a common

occurance to innocent people in the region.

Hopefully the Reuters people will not let this "go away"

Don't expect the IJDL to show up, they avoid threads with Blatant Proof

of an oppressive Israel.

Awesome videos, poor journalists... It just boggles my mind how these journalists are killed and nobody cares about it... The IDF doesn't investigate, the world community doesn't rise up against the tyranny that is Israel, and why? Because the people who defend Israel don't have any arguments to defend Israel's actions other than call people anti-Semites, or Jewish haters. And this, is supposedly the worst and lowest form of humanity.

The same problem occurs in Russia, but nobody is afraid to talk about it in the press. When a journalist is killed in Russia, there is great criticism of the Russian government. Why not in Israel? Because people who criticize Russia are not anti-Semaites, are not Jewish haters, they simply don't like the government's actions.

It's about time that people make the distinction between Israel the country, the policy, and the state religion. Journalists are being killed by the IDF, people need to speak out about the IDF and Israel's war crimes and crimes against humanity.
