Anyone else got this mail so i know this is for real

I got the E-mail today:

Congratulations!

We have selected you to be an entrant in STARWALKER.

This means that, subject to all normal terms and conditions of entry

www.starwalkershow.com...

you will be a competitor in at least the first episode of our show.

It will be entirely your efforts which will determine your progress to
subsequent episodes.

Full briefing and all documents related to same will be sent to you by the
Directors of Operations at a later date. What you will receive at that time
will include amongst other things:

1. a medical questionnaire. THIS MUST BE COMPLETED, AND COMPLETED
ACCURATELY.

2. an affidavit. THIS MUST BE SWORN OR AFFIRMED AND RETURNED TO US WITHIN
FIVE DAYS. scanning it and emailing it is fine. Otherwise post it to
Starwalker c/o PO BOX 2232 TUGGERANONG ACT CANBERRA AUSTRALIA 2902

3. an information pack containing etiquette, onscreen behaviour, locations
and other mandatory information.

For now we recommend joining with us on Facebook, visiting the blog
frequently for updates, and also checking in on the website although this
last is less important.

You will soon see advertised "free entry on website" and "paid entry by
mobile phone" for our programme. YOU ARE ALREADY SELECTED FOR ENTRY.
Therefore do NOT re-enter.

You are as of now fully under the terms and conditions of the show. Please
be aware of this, it is within the discretion of the Producers to exclude
you from the show at any time for any breach of the terms and conditions.

Information relating to the episodes and challenges will gradually be made
available as part of a "teaser" process on the Facebook group. We would
strongly suggest that you join that group and visit often to get maximum
advantage. We can confirm for you immediately that Episode 1 consists of
three filming days, four non-filming days covering the following content for
you:

***

Offscreen:
Executive Producer's Welcome
*Final check of your certificate, affidavit, identity and bona fides
*Legal clearances
*Medical clearances
*Training advice
Information evening on how we will film you
Hints and Clues
Who Are You? Defining Yourself To An Audience (Be Yourself)

Departure - anyone too scared to continue may leave at this point.

Onscreen: EPISODE 1 "THE SEARCH"

DAY 1: THE RACE
Filming of preparation, lecture and meet-and-greet
Filming of interviews at discretion of Segment Director and Presenters
21 kilometre "Half Marathon": Segment 1 "How Much Do You Want It?"
After-Race Interviews
The Cut (50% of entrants eliminated)

DAY 3: BOAT CHALLENGE
Filming of preparation, lecture and meet-and-greet
Filming of interviews at discretion of Segment Director and Presenters
"Boat Challenge": Segment 2 "Live Together"
After-Challenge Interviews
The Cut (50% of entrants eliminated)

All safety, medical and referee supervision is provided by the show and is
of professional standard. All medical and safety intervention is done by
relevant independent bodies, and not by the show. If the independent
observers call a halt to an activity for you, THAT ACTIVITY IS HALTED FOR
YOU. Allowance is always made for the effect such intervention, if it
occurs, may have on other competitors.

As you can see, at the end of filming of the first Episode, we will halved
the entrants group twice. Please try not to be upset if you are eliminated,
the probability is high that the competition will be tough, physically and
mentally. Even to compete is an achievement.

***

There will be much more information for you closer to the date. At this
stage filming of Episode 1 "The Search" will take place worldwide in May
2010. If you successfully pass to later rounds, you will need to be
available May 2010 through April 2011 at the absolute maximum, inclusive.

Finally, it is up to you and is your responsibility to get to the filming
location for Episode 1 when you are informed of this location. Should you
progress past Episode 1 we will then provide the DIRECT expenses and travel
associated with the show. But for Episode 1- IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to
attend.

However for now, please accept the sincere congratulations of the entire
production team. Even having the determination and bravery to enter the
STARWALKER competition marks you out from the ordinary and indicates you
have a more than average degree of intrepidity. Celebrate that!

Congratulations again, and best of luck to each and all of you!

Seems that no one quite knows whether this is a hoax or not. But I did find one blog that thinks it is a scam... link below:

realstarwalkers.blogspot.com...

I hope for you that it is real and you get the chance to win a trip into orbit. But something insides says that it's a pile of BS.

Best

It's a production right?

I think you are in if so. How did they choose you? Did you apply?

Exciting! I hope it all works out and you get to be part of something which sounds outstanding!

Im sure this is a Hoax, you don't enter a reality TV show by email or text, there are loads of stages involved including an initial audition of casual interview, i wouldn't send them a thing.

Some info on the people making the show:

Jameson Sansom-Jones :He failed to disclose to the mortgage company that he was the sole director of a limited company called Truckbuyer Limited which had traded for 6 years and that was in financial difficulty and unable to pay its creditors.

Greg Smith: Despite complying with his lawyers demand Greg Smith of Myrmidon Enterprises and his friend Jonathan Nolan of Pisces All Media are suing the owner (me) of ZGeek for $42.5 million. Yes. $42.5 million dollars.

Executive Producer/Showrunner Jonathan Nolan was disbarred as an attorney in Australia seven years ago on three counts of misappropriation of money from a trust fund he controlled.

I wouldnt touch these guys with a barge pole

Did you apply to be on the show? If not then it is most likely a hoax...

Just like the emails you get that claim you have won a large sum amount of money from some foreign lottery, and all they need is your bank account info.... Well, you didn't enter those lotteries and they are a hoax.......

If you entered by cell text, I would check your bill for charges. I just got taken by a spam that didn't even get a reply---I didn't know you could get a recurring charge just by receiving an unsolicited text.

For fun I entered online when it was posted here and I received the same email as you. I would bet that thousands did.

Based off the info they would like you to provide, I'm thinking its some type of scam.

I just hope you didn't give them too many personal details or ANY bank details.

I think it's a phishing scam. Most people aren't stupid enough to fall for the "You won the internet lotto" or "Lost Nigerian Prince" scams anymore. Phishers go after a little bit of info here, little there, little more over there, and eventually they'll have a decent enough profile of you built that they can call up and claim an "error in billing" or "IRS Oversight" or whatever with enough personal information to convince you that they are looking at your account at the moment. That's when they ask for passwords, account info, and other sensitive information.

To be honest, with ATS tripping my Spyware/Malware scanners as often as it does, I wouldn't be surprised if some leg of it was attached to a malicious piece of code which either is or was on ATS at some time. Considering the nature of the site, soliciting you with a "Star Walker" scam is a safe bet to generate your interest.

General rule of thumb, if you didn't enter - you didn't win, and if you accept the offer, you're probably going to lose big time.

It was a thread here on ats about a show that was looking for applicants to be on it. It seems like a scam to me but the first entry was almost zero info. As you can tell from above they are looking for much more along with signed affidavits. I'm sure thats the part the scam hinges on.

I'm guessing this is where the Conspiracy Theorist as-target-demographic got it's start.

Nolan is an Australian novelist and independent filmmaker who heads up a company called Pisces All Media. One of his films, “Fortunate Sons,” is an expose on the George W. Bush Administration and the War on Terror. Nolan directed it and co-produced it with fellow Aussie Smith. I found this synopsis online: From JFK to Star Wars, from the birth of the modern USA to the CIA-dominated police state of today, FORTUNATE SONS show graphic evidence of the JFK and 9/11 conspiracy, tracing the assault on freedom by the elite. Pisces All Media has a page dedicated to the film that raises questions about the U.S. government’s knowledge of or involvement in 9-11. The page doesn’t provide any answers; I’m guessing they’re in the film.

Another article on the same site, with an interesting update.

UPDATES: The three ISU alumni left the show within weeks after this blog post was published. They will not comment publicly on why. A representative for Stephen Hawking has denied the physicist has any involvement in the program. The show has continued under Executive Producer Jonathan Nolan, a former attorney who was disbarred in Australia for embezzlement from a trust fund he controlled.

I looked briefly, but I didn't find an online source for Stephen Hawking's rep denying endorsement. Though at this point, I don't think it's necessary. You could email Stephen Hawking's webmaster and ask yourself if you're really interested.

What a bunch of low life douchebags, .... I've heard of one guy who successfully reverse scammed a nigerian, I'm not sure how he did it, ... but you should play along, act very eager, ... and look for an angle to play so you can reverse scam them somehow.

Such as, .. if they ask you for money, tell them your a couple hundred short, ..... and try to get them to send it to you. good luck.

I hope those scumbags end up behind bars, trying to scam people for their instant noodles.
