And, earthquakes don't kill people, buildings do.

Worse than seeing people killing other people with guns, is being unable to either prevent it or report it.

I guess "blupblup" is the sound of you drinking the liberal koolaid, eh?

Why exactly is it a stupid statement?
But the truth is.. It's true! Did the gun kill anybody itself? Did it fall from a tree, grow ammunition and start shooting randomly?

It’s a stupid statement because guns can kill by themselves minus any human intent to kill something. You ever hear of an accidental discharge?

Did the gun fall from the sky? Or did someome handle the gun pior to the discharge? People are always involved in accidental shootings.

Ooooh boy ...

I see that handguns top the list, according to the FBI (who I don't trust as far as I can throw them), but knives are used more often than shotguns or rifles are used.

In fact, shotguns and rifles are way down on the list of homicide weapons.

Rifles and shotguns are so far down Clinton just had to hit them with his moronic AWB. Gotta love it.
Typical gov logic. Spend all their time harping on handgun crime then ban bayo lugs from rifles.

You know if you only ever listen to one persons, or one groups perspective, you tend to be very biased and often so wrong in your world view it's embarrassing.

Third Reich? What has that to do with your, or my, opinion in context with this subject, or liberals (which I'm sure we also do not share definitions of)? Do you realise there are liberals on both sides of the left/right divide? You've been listening to those idiots who think the Nazi's were socialists because they're not smart enough to realize a name means nothing and authority often lies haven't you?

BTW Third Reich means third Empire, socialists are not empire builders they are working class people who have no aspirations for world domination, just a fair distribution of resources. Unlike the RIGHT WING Nazi Party and the capitalist system we live in now. Fascism, was btw instigated world wide due to WWII, which was really a war against the working class who were starting to revolt in Europe stating with Spain in 1936. Go read some history, Hitler and his Nazi Party was fighting AGAINST the left in Spain, against the working class farmers who set up socialist collectives across the country. The Nazi party was based on the fascism of Mussolini (I guess he was a lefty too huh?).

You probably think 'social engineering' is also 'socialism' don't ya? (yes there is a web site that makes this silly claim in it's rant against what it thinks is 'socialism', which it wasn't, making the site even more funny and dangerous).

Of course you just believe them and have never bothered to check the history have you? You only believe what you want that fits the very narrow world view you have for some reason taken to heart.

You folks will say anything to defend 'the right'.

Let's put it another way...

Does the person infected with a virus kill other people by transmitting it...or do the virus kill people?

Now blaming the infected would be quite a shame...

I know this, 100% of homicides are committed by people who intended to commit a homicide. The weapon used is irrelevent.

I also know that people use guns 3 to 4 times more often to stop crimes than they use them to commit crimes.

This makes guns far more valuable as defensive tools than they are as offensive tools.

Remove all guns today, right at this moment, and the majority of homicides would be committed with knives and stabbing weapons by tomorrow morning.

That's because you haven't removed the CAUSE of 100% of the homicides... PEOPLE.

YOU folks will say anything to undermine the Constitution, which YES gives us the Right for a reason. To keep anti-American dirtbags from destroying this country.

Doc ... come on now.

You called folks liars and imbeciles, you asked for stats, I gave them to you.

You don't want to trust them that's fine ... but please tell me you didn't just say "if you take handguns out of the stats I was so right." And proceed to used the stats you just rejected to further the reasoning.

It's not a sin to be wrong every once in a while, though being so stuck on a position that facts become irrelevant probably should be.

Just for the "gun statistic" nutballs out there, knives are used in homicides far more often than shotguns are used. Which is why I always keep a couple of tactical shotguns handy.

That's not what I said at all. I said that PEOPLE are involved in 100% of all homicides.

Meanwhile, firearms are used to STOP CRIMES 3 to 4 times more often than they are used to commit crimes.

Btw, that closet looks a little flimsy ... I think I'm going to get something more eurotrashy to store the Mossberg ... I'm thinking tufted patent leather.

If you're referring to the door in my photo, that's a solid cypress door on one end of the solid cypress den — this house 100 years old this year, still as solid as a rock, far superior in construction to anything manufactured today.

As for storing a Mossberg, you might want to start out by storing it in a toybox.

Go get a real shotgun, the Remington 870 Marine Magnum — that's the gun on the left in my photo. The one on the right is a Fabrique Nationale Tactical Police 12 gauge.

Lot of people go for the Mossberg because it's inexpensive and easy to acquire (they sell 'em at WalMart). However, too many of the Mossberg's components are made of plastic. It's a malfunction waiting to happen.

Perhaps you need to see this:

The Soviet Union established gun control in 1929.

From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Turkey established gun control In 1911.

From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938.

From 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935.

From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

Guatemala established gun control in 1964.

From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970.

From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956.

From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property.

Gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

With guns, we are ‘citizens’.

Without them, we are ’subjects’.

Excellent and irrefutable statistics. All we know from the pages of history is that an unarmed populace is a populace of livestock, with a handful of armed "keepers" guarding the perimeter.

The populace is reduced to nothing more than the property of the guys who own the weaponry.
