(news) Significant Tornado Outbreak Hammers the Midwest

Tornadoes continue to race across the upper Midwest. Multi rounds of Tornadoes hammered through Nebraska and Iowa cause massive damage to property. At least 35 tornadoes, some significant in intensity marched over Eastern Nerbraska and Western Iowa leaving a significant amount of damage in it's path. Severe storms with tornadoes still continue to race across portions of Central and Eastern Iowa, and into Northern Illinois.

At 1209 AM CDT: 40 Flash Flood Warnings were in effect across Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, after one line of showers and thunderstorms moved through the area.

Continuing Severe Weather Coverage

Total Tornadoes so far today is 65, which broke this years record of 58. The largest tornado record for this decade is 83 which was set on May 10, 2003.

However, at 1211 AM SPC and NWS Storm Forecast models continued to indicate strong rotation in these storms push twords the east twords Des Moines, and the Quad Cities.

I find this thread to be quite similar to the severe weather pattern we are seeing today all across the Midwest and on into tomorrow. Take a look at the local news and they are already seeing tornadoes break out through Nebraska and then throw in the gulf winds we are GOING to see wide spread devastation ending with a bout of freezing temps and and record snow fall.

I need to look back on the OP to see what month the last similar break out was happening.

Interesting, the weather has shifted in the Midwest this year and the bee's which we always see come in April- May are already here in full force. Interesting, stay safe friends.
