i'd say if ya beleave in evolution plants have been here far longer then us so they have had more time to add and discard bad dna

While plants may have impressively large genomes, it appears that the humble amoeba takes the biscuit with one species reputedly having a genome of 670 billion base pairs, compared with about 3 billion for a human.
