GE/RR F136 Slips Another... Year?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Deliveries of an alternate F-35 fighter engine being built by General Electric Co (GE.N) and Rolls-Royce Group PLC (RR.L) will be delayed by one year, a source familiar with the program said on Tuesday.

"The entire F136 delivery plan has slipped a year," the source, who was not authorized to speak on the record, told Reuters.

Article came up two days ago, so the news should still be fresh. Doesn't look too promising for the F136 what with the resistance it's already getting from sects of the government. Which is rather a shame given that I'd like to see Pratt and Whitney get some competition on the cash cow that the F-35 is expected to be.

Perhaps they're trying to keep in sync with the 'slippage' of the overall programme!
