super tucano at Nellis

Not exactly a black project, but cool never the less. Besides the Navy looking at these planes, they are also destined to be used in Afghanistan.

Thanks Gariac - and congratulations to Bruce Smith- great quality. Especially liked the EWACS shots which looked looked quite messy - no injuries I hope.

Peace!

Bruce spends a lot of time at the fence. Many locations. He certainly knows his way around the base. Also check out the Nellis Spotters:

They are young and dedicated. It's really nice to see new blood out there.

I have another photo coming from Tonopah, but I'm working on getting permission. Basically it is a shot of the NT-43A over what looks like the land east of the Tonopah Test Range.

It is this plane, but in a different location:

Or maybe there is another NT-43A, but I doubt it.

Just thought I'd throw in that these are the very planes that Blackwater (Xe) had ordered a few years ago. Not sure if they ever got any.

Thanks again for some great shots Gariac!

Yes, Blackwater did purchase some, without the machine gun pods.

Tucano's are fantastic, I flew the T1 variant during basic training here in the UK and loved every second!!! Certainly a move up from Chipmunks and Bulldogs!

Would make a great choice for manned SOF close support.

Cheers

Robbie

The Superbird showed up today in a different configuration. I added the photo to the same webpage.
