Army: Troop use in Ala. shootings broke law

The report from the Department of Army Inspector General found the use of military personnel in Samson violated the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits federal troops from performing law enforcement actions. The names of those involved were redacted from the report.

I'm Canadian, but from what I understand this is a good thing.

Everyone's always talking about violation of rights with little to be done about it, but I guess not in this case.

From what the article said the inquiry was started because someone asked for information under the FOIA. Keep asking for information, they can't all be bad guys in there, some people must want to help.

At the time it seemed to me like a minor issue but I guess even the Army had problems with how local commanders got involved.
