WASHINGTON - The unprecedented number of death threats against President Obama, a rise in racist hate groups, and a new wave of anti government fervor threaten to overwhelm the US Secret Service, according to government officials and reports, raising new questions about the 144-year-old agency’s overall mission.

Why is their a rise in racist hate groups? I feel a lot of the Radio talking heads are fostering a concerted campaign against the current administration.
I wish it was just a disagreement with policy but the undercurrent of racism is unmistakable.

The domestic threat is also growing, fueled in part by Obama’s election as the nation’s first black president, according to specialists who study homegrown radical movements.

They just make this up to get more money. They go after anyone and for no reason as loons ringing them for no reason, and saying rubbish.

They have a stupid system and anyone caught wasting there time should be prosecuted.

The system is so open to abuse, to get anyone destroyed by these mad american groups. These groups are so paranoid, they will literally kill anyone, just on made up stuff.

Thats the world when america is the sole bully in the world.

Because deny it as they may, many people are freaked out that a black man is our president. It's true that the media darlings are pushing the agenda, but if the racial fear and hatred wasn't there in the first place, they'd be talking to empty space.

There's a very ugly segment of our society who are going to read that article and smile, thinking that they've got a better chance of getting him out of there because of the strain on the Secret Service. They'll discuss it with people of like mind while they sit around their radios together... This is not a test. This is serious business.

And I really, really hope the Secret Service does focus its efforts to protecting the President.

Guess any excuse to reinstate the censorship in the 'Fairness' doctrine would do, right? I personally feel there was a lot more vitriol coming from the MSM towards G. W. Bush than is going towards B. H. Obama. But then the socialists have never been able to take criticism, have they? Maybe that's one lesson from the right that would definitely benefit them to take.

I can promise anyone that the secret service and all these agencies are more of a threat to you than any lone nut.

If some loon rings up the secret service with lies, there is a chance the secret service may absolutely destroy your life for nothing.

The system is so open to abuse, and the secret service care little about human beings, i.e the secret service would kill anyone they want and why should they care.

The real world is a nasty place full of government agencies like this, and they just need to do there job to protect those people, without making rubbish up all over the news about increased threats, just because the pres is black. Obama is ok, as long as they protect him.

We know in history the only times things happen is when the secret service did not do its job.

So these stories are phoney, and they make it more likely than innocent people get on there list because some loon does not like the, and get this anywhere in teh world people can ring up these agencies in america, and your life can be ruined.

The system is rotten to the core, and the press are just as corrupt.

Even if a person never wanted to goto america in his life, some nut can ring up the secret service and say that he is a threat, and the person is a passive quiet person that will never harm anyone. This is the type of person that americans have no understanding of, as americans have this obsession with violence, passive males are alien to them.

The system is all about abuses, and the press never report about how many nuts ring these groups up, telling lies about innocent people,a nd many probably never even want to goto america.

IMHO, I trust the Secret Service, CIA, NSA, and FBI. without them, America would be in a world of hurt. I hope that they catch and prevent any attempts of death or destruction on our president, people and country.
Do you remember the missile attack at LAX
dailypundit.com...

www.websleuths.com...

, or the terrorists that were caught attempting to sell ground to air rockets in LA?
p.s.
Tommy in SS from FWA, its been a long time since we played with aircraft and tanks. I hope all is well.

I agree there are some folks who have racist reasons to hate Obama. I also think that there are folks who support Obama who cry "racist" at anyone who doesn't support him - for any reason - just because racism is such an ugly and politically charged accusation. It is awfully convenient to just cry "racism" anytime someone challenges Obama.

Someone did this to me, and i know what these groups do to destroy people. SOme nut can ring up these groups, and i have had no interest in ever going to america.

These groups are just there to kill and torture anyone they want.

Americans seem to not understand the term passive male, as all there country is full of violence. The term seems totally alien to these people.

Someone did what is said above about me, and i know what they do, and these groups do not give a feck about you being innocent, just that people made it up is all they need and they will do anything they want to you.

I think I can say that for the many of ATS posters on this site, I don't take a threats against ANYBODY AS A JOKE.

Now, this is not new. Racism is flinging it's head around. They've suffered a major loss when Obama was elected as the President. They understand that their views are dying, and as such, are going strong in a last attempt.

It's sad, though, that some people on here want to believe that this stuff is being made up...

Remember when John Ashcroft use to come out and say things like:

" I dont' know where, I don't know whe, but something is going to happen"

These were tactics to scare Americans into thinking there was some big bad evil among them, namely terrorists.

Now they are trying to to do same, with domestic terrorism. Attempting to pain the picture that most people out there want Obama dead, when the fact is I am sure that most of these people are more in dislike of his policies than his skin color.

Now that is not to say that race isn't a factor, it certainly is and will remain so long as he is president.

But this is just more fear tactic...

Proof positive right here that socialists can't take criticism. You say something about the group, and someone of the ilk comes back with a personal attack.

EDIT: And I get added as a Foe to boot.

To begin with this is a Boston Globe article which makes it suspect to me.

The report comes from the Congressional Research Service which is controlled by basically what ever party is in control of the Congress at the time, which also makes it suspect.

Fearmongers will post anything to promote their agenda.

Last but not least, the President is not black. His mother was a white woman,he was reared by white people, he thinks like a white man, talks like a white man.

I have no problems with a black looking person leading this country.

I just wish it was a real leader like Colin Powell.

Obama has NO leadership ability.

All he can say is "We have a lot on our plate."

Dude,I got news for you.You are in way over your head.

Start eating or leave the table.

My post from another thread:

Race Card:

The invocation of a person's race in a discussion in order to score points in that discussion

Examples of the Race Card I have seen on this board (see definition above) paraphrased:

"You voted for Obama because of his race so you could make history."
"You just hate Obama because of his race."
"Obama's not even black, he's 50%."
"Stop saying he's the first black president! He's not"

Oh, and how exactly does a white man think? And how does a white man talk?

You may be right about the fear-mongering, but it's better to be safe than sorry, especially when keeping the president safe is the Secret Service's job. I'm not convinced that threats against this president would be as overt as threats against past presidents. The anger and frustration levels in this country are at an all time high and people are just looking for someone to blame.

Have you read this board lately? Shesh oh Pete, the amount of sheer HATE for this president is appalling.

One thread...43 pages mostly HATE for this president. I am sure not all of it has to do with his skin color. But good GOD!

Its also their job to protect our currency from counterfeiting... funny, I havent seen much press about their work at finding out who was trotting around Italy with 134.5 billion dollars in US notes at a time that we had 134.5 billion dollars left in TARP. All the MSM reports were that they were counterfeit... okay. Did the S/S go and find out who the two Japanese Nationals were who were subsequently released?

Why no prosecution?

Personally, I could really care less. I do have grave concerns over his agenda... as dictated by his handlers. That's right. His handlers. I have yet to find any documentation that he has authored that demonstrates any line of original thought. Most of it is just re-canned propaganda that he has absorbed over his bottle rocket career.

So what is the US Secret Service supposed to do in Italy? Kinda hard crossing those boarders. They would have to set up with the local authorities.

For one... they can use their contacts via Interpol to obtain evidence on the case. Identity of the claimed Japanese Nationals etc. They can also do the same with law enforcement in Japan and the Japanese government. From there they can start looking for contacts, relationships etc. In essence, they can get up off their arse and go do something. The publicity arm (the FBI) can do all the facetime stuff on the media outlets if they want to maintain secrecy.

The point is, there is a long history of criminal activity being swept under the rug when there is an off chance that some political entity is involved.

I, like many other people in the US. have lost confidence in Law Enforcement and the various segments of the bureaucratic hydra that calls itself our government.

I was watching a documentary on LBJ last night that covered, in the beginning, the assassination of John F. Kennedy in Dallas. There were Secret Service agents then and still a gunman was able to get to him. There was later an attempt on Ronald Reagan, which failed in part because of vigilance by his Secret Service guards.

Hatred of a president is nothing new, and while I agree that racial animosity is a factor in hatred of Obama I do not like to see this thread disintegrate into another "you're racist..no, you're racist..no you're racist" kind of argument. Keeping the duly elected leader of our country alive in a sometimes-violent country is the first and most important job of the Secret Service. I don't think any patriotic citizen would argue with that.

It does seem like Democratic presidents get more assassination threats and attempts than their counterparts, but any attempt at violence toward a president, no matter what his party, is a threat to our democracy.

Abraham Lincoln - Republican (National Union Party at time of assassination)
James A. Garfield - Republican
William McKinley - Republican
Warren G. Harding - Republican (possible poisoning)
John F. Kennedy - Democrat
Ronald Reagan - Republican (attempted assasination)
George W. Bush - Republican (attempted assassination)

(From the Curse of Tippecanoe Wiki article.

Now, there may be other attempted assassinations or threats that are not listed here. I'd be interested in seeing a link or a list of them. Just from the nature of the beast, there is a lot of political hay to be derived from the publicity aspect of it, so claimed assasination threats may be stunts to win favor with the public, or suppressed to maintain favor with the public. It just depends on what the mindset and goal of the targeted public figure is at the time... as well as his handlers.
