I cant believe Ive searched this project and only 1 mention of it came up. Such a unkown yet amazing artist to come out of the Breakcore genre. Aaron Funk is best described as someone who puts his own spin on Techno music by literally mixing his tracks and then with a edge, incorporating other tracks to blend a almost mash-up of songs.

You really have to hear every album he's done to appreciate the works of Venetian Snares, from the melodic "Rossz Csillag" to his personal hatred album of "Winnipeg is a frozen S..thole."

Definitely a Project for open-minded musicians who like their alternative music.

Yeah, that Ross Goulash Whatever album is pretty neat. The thing is with breakcore is it can get pretty boring after a while, but he did a really good job on that album.

I half agree with Whine Flu, that breakcore can get a bit boring after a while. But then again, it's not really sitting round at home music. It's music for *those types* of clubs, where you go and throw yourself around to mad noises for a few hours. So it certainly has it's place in my heart.

Venetian snares rule. His mix of Doormouses Skelechairs is proper SICK.
(for the purpose if the site, this video defiantly comes with an 18 rating. Contains lots of scenes from horror films)

What I can say is that he's brought along some unique things to the genre, like making songs in alternate time signatures. I'm not too sure if this has been done before, but it seems to be a really interesting and risky thing to do, considering that most electronic is meant to follow conventional 4/4 rhythms.

Also, I dunno how he came up with the idea of Nymphomatriarch. I mean, who thinks to make breakcore from sampled sounds of him and Hecate making love?

He has pretty awesome hair, too. If you saw him on the street you'd think he's a metal musician or something.

Though, I should probably retract the fact that I think breakcore can get boring. I think breakcore can be really, really well done, but I haven't heard to much artists. Mainly because there aren't realy too many that make breakcore. I generally just like standard drum and bass (no Pendulum, urgh). LTJ Bukem's Fabriclive 46 is a great mix. One of my favourites of '09. That's one album that can take you elsewhere.

I probably should stop coming into threads and talking about other musicians.

The reason I discovered Aaron's sounds in the first place was because I socialise around a lot of the "alternative" people in the town, so I know all the Metallers/Goths/Emo's etc..I remain neutral as I listen to anything from Satanic Warmaster to SOAD, but knowing bands like Hadouken, Innerpartysytem, Klaxons (I hate to say it but Pendulum too) was what prepared me for Venetian Snares..otherwise I wouldnt have "got it." It was a friend who accidentally introduced me to Detrimentalist and after that I started to get everything else that Aaron Funk had ever done, even the Split and Compilations.

So what you're trying to say is that you're a hipster?

Just kidding!

Lol..well I guess you could say as I like most things prior to hearing VS, Aarons incorporation of styles aswell as the image is exactly what i'm looking for musically. I enjoy my Metal and I have the image but also do mixes on FL Studio and Wavpad, not sure what programs Aaron uses but I'll ask him later today.

Not as in drinking buddies (being the other side of the world to each other) but I kept in touch with him through certain contacts I know, Heard from Aaron a few days ago infact that he's lost a year and a half's work through his system crashing, I mentioned Data recovery but he's seeing this as a sign lol.

Venetian Snares rules. Saw him at All Tomorrows Parties 200..4/5?

Came on stage at 4 in the morning, amazing...he had a girl with him singing some sort of weird opera on top of his DJing. He had some speakers, I think they were laser ionic or something... the sound went right into your head...

I'm getting a documentary together and I need some original hard music for the soundtrack. I need some gutsy stuff not weak muzak.

1. What is VSnares most postive sounding, melodic song?

2. What are his best songs in yr opinion? I like that Hungarian album too.

3. What other artists do similar stuff to him?
