Im sure that many of you out there have ran across this story and said "WTF? Really?" Besides the obvious of Polanski being a douche and deserving every visit he will get from his celly at night (if he goes to jail) teaching him the wonders of being a prison bitch, is it not kinda terrifying some people that people would even be standing up for this guy?

Lets get the facts out there. Polanski gave alchol and drugs to a 13 year old and raped and sodomized her (yes, she said stop). For "normal" people (not in hollywood) we would rightly go pretty much straight to jail and would have to live out that time in fear for our lives because everybody in there would want us dead. But, since this guy is in hollywood, people want to stand up and say its not that big of a deal? Dude was like 30+ years older than her at the time. Remember, these people standing up for him are the same people that the NEA said were "cool" and told people what was cool and not.

In saying all that, its really not a suprise to me that everybody in Hollywood is wanting to stand up for this guy, they are all whack jobs anyways. My question really is, how can we teach these people that are standing up for a slimeball like this guy a lesson? Boycott movies, tv shows etc? Email bombs? What? This is really detestible. This stuff happens everyday in our society and not one of them stand up for those pervs, yet when one of their own does it its all hunky dorey? Any ideas on how we can tell the aristocrats of today's American society to [snip] and that we are tired of their bs?

Awesome. It's not 'rape-rape.'

I hope this becomes the no.1 defense of 2010 for all crimes.

Way to go Whoopi.

I like THIS part of the article. [/SARCASM]

Roman Polanski: backlash as Whoopi Goldberg says director didn't commit 'rape-rape'

More than 100 film industry figures have now signed a petition calling for the release of Polanski,

[SARCASM]OOOH, over 100 people in the film industry think he should be released!!!

I guess that's enough to throw the laws of our land out the window and let this guy get away with raping a minor![/SARCASM]

These 100+ people should be ashamed of themselves!

I smell sarcasm.... you do know she was in 'Ghost' right, what further proof do you need to know her opinion isn't an opinion it's fact!

Not much you can do to protest this...

Hopefully this works itself out.

I'm sure the girl has family, and the family, hopefully won't take this sitting down.

I mean if someone raped someone close to me, and got away with it, it wouldn't be for to long....

Edit to add: watched the video, apparently the family was ok with it?

Whatever, still, this sounds eerily close to the MJ thing. And well...

IMO, I've know people who are now criminal sex offenders, labeled by the state, for much much less, and have seen their lives in the town completely ruined, and noone asked these questions, and their screwed in nearly every aspect of their life....

this guy they stick up for.

Anyone who gives a 13 yr old champagne, and has sex with her.... is sick.

It's a double standard, hollywood Ok

Same with hilton, and then rest.

Same with female teachers and male 12 yr olds.

Ugh... it never ends.

I've been knocked back a bit by this story (not just this one posted, the whole thing) Why the hell is everyone up in arms about a rapist being caught for rape? So freaking what he's some film dude, he's a rapist too. And it IS "rape, rape" Whoopi. What a down right effing stupid thing to say.

Oh Whoopi! Straight from the Bill Clinton school of sexual terminology.
Hollywood just needs to go away for awhile and Whoopi needs to be knocked back down to the "Hollywood Squares" center square right next to the fancy lad that use to be on "Too Close for Comfort"

I can't believe people didnt start shouting at Whoopi. He co-hosts went way too easy on her.

Imagine if Glenn Beck had been on that day and tried to pull the "it's not rape-rape" line? The whole building would have burned to the ground.

I posted it on the other thread. Here you go.

Might be interesting for one to note that Harrison Ford accepted his award for him at the event he was arrested on his way to it. Where he said that

"It is a criminal conviction of a terrible crime, but it is something that the industry is willing to look the other way on," Belloni said. "If Hollywood really gets to look at itself and judge the personal character of a lot of the artists in the community, there would be a lot of empty seats at the Oscars because a lot of people have personal problems. This sort of is at the extreme level of that."- Harrison Ford

Well, people criticize Elizabeth Hasselbeck for her views but count on Whoopi to say something absolutely stupid. This is the same woman who said dog-fighting was a part of Southern culture during the whole Michael Vick thing, despite being a complete lie and generalization.

I do think the case should be dropped because the woman who was "rape" but not "rape-raped", settled it out of court for a large sum and she is on Roman's side in wanting the case to be dropped.

This entire fiasco is one of the most absurd things I've heard for awhile. That all these stars are basically advocating statutory rape so long as you are also brilliant is beyond belief. He did this to himself by not staying in the U.S. and just serving his time.

c'mon people if MJ can get away with it why not Polanski? Seriously though Whoopi and the other Hollywood tards that think that this is not "rape-rape" should experience what this 13 year old did and then tell us how they feel. I suggest maybe one night in general population at a max security. Since when does a 13 year old girl understand actions and the consequences of those actions? My god their brains are still developing at 13 years old, yet some of them think they know everything about anything and that nothing can happen to them. The guy is a perv (pedophile comes to mind) and should be charged with at minimum statutory rape and providing alcohol and drugs to a minor .

Hollywood and the rest of the "elite" are so *snip* in the head it is
sickening. I agree boycott the entire propoganda of Hollywood and TV as it is truly nothing more than a huge "time vampire". I find ATS more interesting and mind opening than either of them combined. There is a wealth of knowledge out there you just need to wade through a bit of garbage to find it.

Maybe we should organize our list, with (my guess) few millions people more, saying what they think about this crime.
I do not get it, if this was Jake Annonymus from some poor forgotten neighborhood, would same people defend him? Polanski is talented filmmaker - great. But even talented person can commit crime and laws are the same for all. Or at least should be.
