CDC US Quarantine Stations

At the time of this CDC informational page there are at least 20 stations up and operational within land, maritime and borders, set up to keep infectious disease from coming into the US and to keep disease from spreading.

Here is a list of the States confirmed to have these Quarantine stations within their network:

Unlike the F.E.M.A. "Death Camps" and fears about herding American Citizens via Railway Car to a Quarantine Facility in a staged Outbreak. These CDC Quarantine Stations are at Ports of Entry. They are to evaluate incoming visitors, immigrants, and travelers during the time of a World-wide Epidemic, and keep them quarantined before allowing Entry into the United States.

Basically, they are part of a Closed Border scenario to keep disease from spreading rapidly into the United States.

These were masterminded during the SARS scare and the appearance of a Treatment Resistant Strain of TB that became rampant World-wide and declared an epidemic by the WHO. Although the United States saw very few cases, the CDC was concerned because it could spread much more rapidly in the United States than other countries because of the frequency of travel both abroad and domestically by the average American Citizen.

So, these aren't really for holding American Citizens, but incoming visitors passing through Customs that may display symptoms of a communicable infectious disease.

Most countries have similar Quarantine facilities. A local high school group were held in Quarantine facilities in China because they all registered positive for having H1N1 when they went through Chinese Customs, even though none of them were symptomatic or knew they had it. The Chinese Quarantine facilities treated them well, bringing them McDonalds for lunch and local Chinese food for dinner, and even brought in entertainers and cultural artists and historians while they were held for 2 weeks. The Chinese even brought in Chinese Language Tutors for them. Even though the high school group missed most of their trip, the Chinese gave them a Tour Guide and Bus to make up for the inconvenience.

Interestingly, the only current information i can find through the CDC website ends in 07. So why would that be? Am I simply not looking in the right place or asking within their search engine?

I find this interesting as the first reported cases were in Mexico and because of the
system' in place it rapidly spread to the US, had it been a more deadly strain very few would have survived it.

They can plan all they want but when they never closed our borders even for a week to wait and see, or took proactive measures like other countries and set in place the testing equipment for Fever, it just makes no sense to me, yet they boast having spent billions on preparations since the Sars incident.

You aren't finding anything more recent because there have been no revisions made since that last document. Government Agencies will only revise or update documents when actual changes are made.

Should these stations be held accountable for the immediate spread? I think so, as they botched the their first real emergency situation and allowed it to happen almost instantaneously. If these preparations were in full swing since 07 than why the poor response and what happens in the future when something even more deadly is confirmed?

Right, the link in Op is from your last link, lol. What I just feel strongly about is how when it was first announced other countries went into swift and immediate action, our country however was seemingly engaged in more talk of vaccines and antivirals than stepping up the security systems supposedly in place.

It seems as if the US had planned a much more deadly response to the virus and had their commentary already prepared, instead of jumping in like other countries did to stop the infected aliens from entering the country, they instead became almost like a pep squad for the pharmaceutical companies and their progress on a mutated virus vaccine.

How ignorant do they really think people are? Remember it is our tax dollars supporting these supposed quarantine stations and they failed us.

Federal law
The federal government derives its authority for isolation and quarantine from the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

Under section 361 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S. Code § 264), the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services is authorized to take measures to prevent the entry and spread of communicable diseases from foreign countries into the United States and between states.

The authority for carrying out these functions on a daily basis has been delegated to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

CDC’s role
Under 42 Code of Federal Regulations parts 70 and 71, CDC is authorized to detain, medically examine, and release persons arriving into the United States and traveling between states who are suspected of carrying these communicable diseases.

As part of its federal authority, CDC routinely monitors persons arriving at U.S. land border crossings and passengers and crew arriving at U.S. ports of entry for signs or symptoms of communicable diseases.

When alerted about an ill passenger or crew member by the pilot of a plane or captain of a ship, CDC may detain passengers and crew as necessary to investigate whether the cause of the illness on board is a communicable disease.

State, local, and tribal law
States have police power functions to protect the health, safety, and welfare of persons within their borders. To control the spread of disease within their borders, states have laws to enforce the use of isolation and quarantine.

These laws can vary from state to state and can be specific or broad. In some states, local health authorities implement state law. In most states, breaking a quarantine order is a criminal misdemeanor.

Tribes also have police power authority to take actions that promote the health, safety, and welfare of their own tribal members. Tribal health authorities may enforce their own isolation and quarantine laws within tribal lands, if such laws exist.

Who is in charge
The federal government
Acts to prevent the entry of communicable diseases into the United States. Quarantine and isolation may be used at U.S. ports of entry.
Is authorized to take measures to prevent the spread of communicable diseases between states.
May accept state and local assistance in enforcing federal quarantine.
May assist state and local authorities in preventing the spread of communicable diseases.

State, local, and tribal authorities

Enforce isolation and quarantine within their borders.

It is possible for federal, state, local, and tribal health authorities to have and use all at the same time separate but coexisting legal quarantine power in certain events. In the event of a conflict, federal law is supreme.

if it is any consolation the cdc says and I quote

Federal quarantine rarely used
Large-scale isolation and quarantine was last enforced during the influenza (“Spanish Flu”) pandemic in 1918–1919.

In recent history, only a few public health events have prompted federal isolation or quarantine orders:

In 1963, a passenger arriving into the United States was placed under a federal quarantine order as a suspected case of smallpox.
In 2007, a traveler with drug-resistant TB was placed in isolation.

During the 2003 outbreak of SARS, CDC did not issue isolation or quarantine orders. However, CDC did conduct active surveillance, visual screening of passengers, and handed out Travel Health Alert Notices

Not really imo the fed should not have any power to make the populous lock them self’s down or move them any ware other than there homes. But im an idealist.

So are there any newer updates? I have not been able to find anything which tells us how they plan to move forward with this falls plan to hold and secure the borders.

It is interesting however that Mexico supposedly had the first cases and yet it sprang forth via the border towns in the US.

If the Check Points were to be held more strictly accountable dont you suppose it just might light a fire under their pants and force them to do the job they were trained for in the first place?

Do we have any members with family that work at these points that can shed some light on why the disease was not stopped at the check points?

Does anyone have statisics on how many were even detained in the US during last springs outbreak?

Ok first, those are all cities, not states. Second, the list hasn't been revised since 2007 because the nation's main ports of entry haven't changed in the past 2 years.

As a reader of ATS, an evaluation of the swine flu was made that shook me to the core.

In short...the G-20 meeting is to be used for a transfer of weaponized swine flu/vaccine........!!

Keep in mind that a 1% reduction in the US population, (which 4% of the world utilizes 25% of the world's oil) could reduce the world oil consumption by 10%!!! This would setback the alt-energy field, and free up oil for the BRIC counties.

Also, if developed in a deep abandoned Pittsburgh coal mine, could be easily contained with a few explosives.

Also, a major supplier of the swine flu vaccine to the US, Novartis, is HQ in the same city as the BIS (Bank of International Settlements... www.bis.org... )

I am sorry I missed your post! Amazing how they will now govern state to state the same as our borders and most probably even more tightly considering al of the troops being brought into this as well as the roadblocks.

It will be interesting to attempt to travel across America.
