Norman Mineta's testimony to the 9/11 commision, the commison left out of their repport
en.wikipedia.org...

Mineta will recall that, while a suspicious plane is heading toward Washington, an unidentified young man comes in and says to Cheney, “The plane is 50 miles out.” Mineta confers with acting FAA Deputy Administrator Monte Belger, who is at the FAA’s Washington headquarters. Belger says to him: “We’re watching this target on the radar, but the transponder’s been turned off. So we have no identification.” According to Mineta, the young man continues updating the vice president, saying, “The plane is 30 miles out,” and when he gets down to “The plane is 10 miles out,” asks, “Do the orders still stand?” In response, Cheney “whipped his neck around and said, ‘Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?’”

Was the order to shoot the plane down?

Norman Mineta: "well I dont know that specifically, I do know that airplanes had been scrambled from Langley or from Nordfolk area

Dick cheney had control with NORAD on 9/11 2001...

NORAD has since 9/11 2001 changed their explanation for why they did not scramble the airplanes 3 times

The plane is 10 miles out,” asks, “Do the orders still stand?” In response, Cheney “whipped his neck around and said, ‘Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?’”

at this point, no doubt that fighters was in place to shoot it down, they had followed the plane on radar for long time. So the order was to stand down.

Cheney could have shot flight 77 down?

Do you think Cheney was trained to use Surface to Air missiles or was he in a fighter Jet?

Yeah, namely, that the Bush administration openly admitted to the 9/11 commission that the order was given to shoot down flight 93, and NORAD officials openly admitted to the 9/11 commission that they were hunting flight 93 and they would have shot it down, had they found it. Everybody admitted to the 9/11 commission that when the reports started coming in of flight 93 having crashed, it was thought that had been shot down.

Thus, it is blatant conspiracy mongering to try and claim the plane was secretly shot down when everyone is openly admitting that they were actively trying to shoot it down, particularly when all this is in a report that had been released years ago. Before you started makign these claims, you DID read the 9/11 commission report to see what their side of the story was, first, RIGHT?

why did the 9/11 commision leave his testimony out of the final report?

Missing information is always noteworthy.
Thus people would like to quiz the vice president wouldn't they.

Who told you that? Look up the subsection titled,"United 93 and the shootdown order", page 40.

What better reason than, "Let's Roll!"

What better way to win the hearts and minds? ... drum up support.

Possibly one of the most carefully crafted and/or constructed days in history...

with the towers providing the ZOMG factor

an attack on the Pentagon "showing" Their ability to breech our defense infrastructure

and "Let's Roll" being the perfect opportunity to glorify and/or demonstrate the "American" resilience, conviction and ability to come together at the worst of times

War in iraq...... war in afghanistan. WAR

Mission Accomplished! (?)

edit to clarify:

not necessarily war in iraq and/or afghanistan... but we sure do have a rather firm foothold in the middle east Now ... don't we.

Wrong flight. Flight 77 hit the Pentagon, Flight 93 was the flight you are referring to.

In that case, no, flight 77 would not have been shot down becuase Flight 77 hit the Pentagon at 9:37. The presidential order to shoot down the hijacked aircraft wasn't issued until around 10:10-10:15.

FYI Cheney wasn't in charge of NORAD on 9/11. It was a naval captain from Canada. I forget his name.

Goodoldave...

Not acording to Norman Mineta's testimony, they asked Cheney to give an order at 10 miles out.

9/11 commision left this out in the report.

Norman Mineta witnessed that they had scrambled jets in the area, and it seems the order could have been changed at 10 miles out.

The order was either to shoot it down, which it was not. Or stand down.

So we can conclude that the order was to stand down.
