“There is no doubt that our research proves that crude oil and natural gas are generated without the involvement of fossils. All types of bedrock can serve as reservoirs of oil,” says Vladimir Kutcherov, who adds that this is true of land areas that have not yet been prospected for these energy sources.

This is REVOLUTIONARY. What a fantastic discovery. I enjoyed it most because I remember reading a recent thread by someone on ATS only a few months ago that questioned whether fossils actually made fossil fuels or not, and what it would be like if we had found oil on mars.

This truly means so much for the entire planet. This relieves a TON of headaches that were about to happen in the next 15 years.

Great, more pollution. We don't need more oil - Actually we need to get of our oil addiction ASAP.

Fossil fuel doesn't come from "fossils" - but organic matter.

We already have the technology to convert all organic matter into gas and coal - thermal depolymerization

nice find OP. headaches relieved, and totally destroys some people's ideas of a gas shortage, like in the 70's.

I'd think it'd be pretty much common knowledge by now that you don't need organic matter to make hydrocarbons.

NASA Finds Hydrocarbons on Saturn's Moon Hyperion

Titan's Surface Organics Surpass Oil Reserves on Earth

Unless they're hiding something about Hyperion and Titan.

so now the question that begs to be asked is how long until we begin harvesting other planets of their materials

we havent put much focus at least as far as public knowledge on space travel since the moon landing

but with earth resources seemingly "running low" it seems to be only a matter of time until we are forced to go to our neighbors in the universe

or are we already harvesting on other planets and we just dont "know" about it

HAHAHAHAHA What a ridiculous theory you have there. Actually it's not even a theory, you have no evidence... its just a little thought in your mind.

There is such a thing as being too open-minded, you know.
