How to find information regarding Stars?

I want information regarding stars, for example a known star, when did it form, how many light years ago etc etc. Can some one direct me to the right link if possible.

If you know the name or number of the star, you could probably just search for it in Google. If it is a major star, like Sirius or Arcturus, you could probably search for it in Wikipedia. They most certainly have articles there about the major stars with information like that.

Be sure to download Stellarium!
Most of the info about the stars includes their distance in light years.

A really detailed database is the Nasa Star and Exoplanet Database database.

You'll probably get more replies in the Space Exploration forum.
