Hi Everyone , I was wondering what the next big doom and gloom prophecy will be after 21/12/2012 has passed and we are still here, Nibiru has not crashed into Texas and the Mayan calendar has been taken for what it was, a change in cycle, not the end of the earth.

Why I created this thread is because I cannot find a great deal of predictions after the 2012 big one, apart from time wave zero, the scene is strangely quiet, I will do some digging and add to the thread as I go a long but any contribution from the fine ATS members is welcome

Had a quick google and most of the comments are similar to mine, just slagging Planet x believers and saying that they will say "It will happen next year"

Is strange as normally the doom bringers have a back up plan but everyone seems to be hedging their bets on 2012, must be the impact the movie trailer has had on people

Nibiru in 2020 is my guess.

The movie trailer is stupid. I refuse to pay a penny towards that movie.

Nah I am looking forward to it, no one destroys the earth like Roland Emmerich, I will be there just for the CGI porn and nothing more, what puts me off is the family angle he always manages to crow bar in

Heres an idea...lets worry about it after 2012.

1st, 2012 isen't all about nibiru.

You have obviously made peace with the conspiracy theory and found it to be 'wanting.' I know you and many others feel the need to express that you feel it is rubbish.

I haven't decided yet, so frankly, I can't contribute meaningfully. Except one small suggestion:

As you comment, take a moment to teach this traveller why it is rubbish. Then I can make up my mind fair and square.

Just wondering, what is so outrageous about the possibility of a new celestial body causing gravitational havoc? I mean the rest is all mythology.

Edit to add: [sorry hit submit instead of preview.)

I think after the 'prophecy' fails, their will be manipulation of the date; someone will 'recalculate' it endlessly.

You want a real cool year? 2222.

If you haven't seen this, Neil Degrasse Tyson touched on it.

I haven't been thinking 2012 will be a big deal. I've thought about Dec. 31, 2009 (Codex Alimentarius), but even that might take some time to kill billions as they say.....

I AM worried about the 2020s, in general. I know it's a long time from now, but I believe there will be civil wars in Europe when the Muslim population there reaches 30-40% (Muslims vs. non-Muslims). America also has potential for civil war then between the Christians vs. non-Christians.

Remember that the religious people have lots of kids, and statistically (if the trend continues) these scenarios WILL happen eventually.

I think WW3 will be around 2020-2023, and after will be a one-world socialist-style government (if the illuminati have their way).

I'm not a prophet, I just look at the facts and make good guesses.

There are so many differnet ideas about what will happen in 2012 you know some people will be wrong, some maybe right or close to it, probable no one %100 right. Untill the time comes we can only gather what info we can and make our best judgment. After that, regardless of what happens....well, pretty much the same, people of all different kinds will be making their predictions and we will judge them as best we can.

After 2012 comes, and if nothing happens, the doom sayers will undoubtedly find SOMETHING to cling to. To speculate, I would think it would be a date relatively soon after they realise they're wrong(if they are). Perhaps something like 2020 or 2022. We'll see what kind of mumbo jumbo they can scrap up when the time gets here for now, live your life and don't worry about it. It's not like you're going to stop Nibiru or the rapture or the alien invasion if it IS coming....

someone using astronomy from biblical constellation symbols, found an interesting connection between 2012 and the book of revelation, but it didn't include nibiru.

the problem i see so far with nibiru is:

1) it was named from the earlier "nibru," which was the city of the sumerian god enlil. nibru was nibbur was nippur (that's the etymology). enlil was associated with the planet jupiter. his city of nibru was located at a major crossing point of the euphrates, and thus was called nibru, meaning place of the crossing.

see the oxford university translation of the text ENKI'S JOURNEY TO NIBRU (a real sumerian text, not a sitchin text)
www-etcsl.orient.ox.ac.uk...

later the place of the crossing (nibru) was applied to jupiter the planet, as it crossed the meridian of the sky. the planet had several names as it travelled the sky. each location of importance for the calendar, was given an appropriate title. thus when it crossed the meridian, it crossed the "euphrates" (as above, so below), which is how it ends up with the name of enlil's city of nibru.

because the word nibiru is not actually seen in that particular spelling until babylon, it's suggested to have derived originally from the earlier nibru. and since enlil was associated with jupiter, and his place of the crossing was associated with jupiter's crossing, the same word (nibru) was applied to the event.

you don't actually find much evidence of this, however, unless you read the babylonian-assyrian moon omens thing. which you can see here *note that jupiter's name was marduk, but when it passed these spots in the sky, it was called by its location. i dunno if it was called marduk's nibiru or not. more than likely it would've been "marduk is at nibiru" (the meridian):

the gentleman who found the 2012 connection, did so by using the constellation draco, which he feels is referenced in revelation 12 as the great red dragon.

seen here -Revelation 12
www.biblegateway.com...

he shows how the precession of the equinoxes makes draco (the dragon) cover 1/3rd of the sky (one third of the stars are cast down), which incidentally equals 6,660 years. you can see his description here:

after he does the math, he describes the final date as 2016, with a starting date of 2009 and a midway point of 2012, describing a 7 year period.

what makes it interesting to me is, that both the mayans and the biblical prophet john, seem to find significance in the end of that particular precessional cycle, and both seem to ascribe to it a cataclysm of some kind. this is probably why sitchin seems to think it's nibiru, the planet of the crossing.

Great question!

Pesonally, I think Godzilla will make a triumphant return in the year 2021..

2020 just seems to obvious...hes gunna rear his monstrous head and attack like a cat stalking his prey...completely by surprise!

God, I cant wait till december 13th 2012...so classic...

I can just see the doomers getting their survival packs ready now...

You know i actually met a guy who made almost a million bucks off "survival packs" from when the world ended in 2000! What a hell of an idea!

No b.s.

I think im gunna start working on a start up...

selling 2012 survival packs at baseball games..

"Get your doomsday pack here...only 89.99... 2012 is just aound the corner...the anti christ and annunaki is on the way back...fight em off with a glow stick heeeere...get ur 2012 doomsday pack heeeeere...only 89.99 heeeeere!"

I wonder if I can get survivor man to sponsor it?

I've got 2055 or 2056 pegged as the time for Armageddon or the biggest battle in modern history. However that is too far away, I may not even live long enough to see if that turns true. I forget the dates but possibly in 2029 or sometime (I forgot but I know others know) apophis (spelling off?) the asteroid will make a close call with the Earth. In just a few short years afterwards, it may very well hit and be the end for many here. Yellowstone could be set to blow up after 2012, that would really mess things up for the US and other countries that like sunlight and growing food. Maybe a very large major earthquake in LA or somewhere in California in 2010, but that is next year so I have to drop that one because we're thinking about after 2012.

I got it, I predict someone here on ATS will make a major doomsday prediction every year after 2012 for several years.

I also predict Jupiter will remain a planet for all of our lifetimes unless someone changes the definition of what a planet is.

For sure it will be 2035, then 2036, then 2037.
All caused by major asteroids coming in close contact to Earth.
Perhaps Niburu will be back before then because it would seem 23 years is a long time to go on without an Armageddon prediction.

I am thinking it will have to do with the moon getting hit by a comet sending it ever closer to earth.

Because we would either see it in the sky or have seen its effects upon our solar system by now, are you expecting it to turn up within an hour from behind the sun

I agree about the religious wars as the already seems to be starting in the UK. I think that the logical end of life on this plannet is either by our own hands. There is so many problems at the moment that maybe Nibiru would be a god send
