There is no point.

Your collective emotional reaction determines everything.

Did Obama create the pledge?

As far as I am aware Obama isn't making anyone take the pledge. It is a hollywood publicity stunt.

A fad.

Hollywood heavyweights made their pledges to Barack Obama in the video below. Directed and edited by Demi Moore, it features celebrity pledges by Cameron Diaz, Hayden Panetierre, Laura Linney, Dakota Fanning, Jaime Pressley, Ashlee Simpson, Nicole Richie, Ashton Kutcher, Tobey Maguire, Diddy, Alyssa Milano, Marisa Tomei, Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette, and others.

The clip will be presented to our new President during his inaugural celebration.

Still listening to the MSM I see.

Don't you understand that everybody is afraid because they are emotional?

don't you inderstand that to have a revolution we must curb our emotions and react logically?

Work harder and give more to a failing system and a world of greed and social cannibalism not worth my lifting of a finger even... sure thing. I am not talking about right vs. left, this is about wasted effort, lives wasted on a paradigm that has proven it's uselessness over and over and over.

Creepy doesn't say it. I caught this some time ago on infowars and thought there is no way this will ever be released mainstream. What brought about its resurgence? I don't watch television so I'm not sure whats up. Did they really air it or what?

Listen and be at peace. I am deeper into this conspiracy than you will ever want to go. Do not tell me I am listening to the MSM. You have no clue. You think this is Obama? You are already caught in your partisan ways, I can tell by your avatar. You are already caught in their sick joke. Ron Paul, Alex Jones, David Icke...they are all the controlled opposition. Beck, he is there to increase the anger and hatred. Olberman...same deal, increase the hate.

You see, you have no clue what you are dealing with. There are two groups. One that desires to kill most of us off. The other wants to advance our technology to its highest point and make it so that everyone can afford it. That's right, there is not only one "Illuminati" or "TPTB". However, for this moment in time the ones who want to kill us are winning. You play into their hands with you hate and your partisan nature. You are one who feigns consciousness. You claim to be awake, yet you are merely sleepwalking and they like it. You have no clue what you are dealing with and who's hands you are playing in. Just go back to sleep, you will be more aid to humanities' future that way.

Go back to sleep, or make the real effort to wake up, because what I told you is only the surface of the true conspiracies. There are different groups and "things" fighting for control. So, do not ever tell me I am following the msm just because I do not dive head first into hate and instead accept the full embrace of love.

Take out the "I pledge to serve our President" and you have a pretty good message.

However I do agree that the particular line in question made my ears prick up and struck a nasty chord.

It should be "I pledge to serve our country" if anything. Swap the line out and suddenly its a lot more positive.

But - as has been noted above - this video isn't anything from the administration. It seems to be privately funded.

I think the makers went a little bit too far with just one line, but it does change the tone a little.

Still - how is this any different than the various "pledges" to support the Bush administration after 9/11, and the "you're with us or you are against us" rhetoric that followed?

Everyone calling this vid creepy will be the main ones joining the CNPA
www.abovetopsecret.com...

No, but seriously. A video telling you to care about everyone else is creepy now? Oh my gosh, we are in so much trouble. I bet everyone complaining is over 30...I swear, older people complain about every single thing that doesn't fit their comfortable lifestyles. A video tells you to go and be extraordinary and it is suddenly creepy and the first signs of a fascist state. I seriously can not facepalm hard enough.

First of, i am 22 years old.
Second, i did not complain about people telling to care for others, i complain because there are sings said such as:

"I pledge,... to be of service to Barack Obama"

"I pledge to be a servant to our president"

Come on dude that is simply terrifying. A servant? So he is the master?

This guy is doing something with is charm and his skills of speech which happend before too. That was in Germany, when Hitler took power.

Creepy?

You've got to be kidding me- that was a great message, I have no idea why people would find that creepy

- what youve got something against people working together, bettering the environment and generally looking after others- your country is in more trouble then what I thought judging by some of the responses here

I like the more honest and open pledge myself...

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the Socialist States of America and to the regime for which it stands, one nation under Obama, divisible, with tyranny and injustice for all."

Notice only a few things have been changed in the flag and the pledge of allegiance... Change we can believe in!

I was given a suspension from high school once for refusing to pledge allegiance to the flag. They accused me of being unpatriotic. I asked them how many different flags the United States has had. They couldn't answer my question. I said that I would never pledge allegiance to a symbol, but I would be happy to pledge allegiance to the Constitution for the United States. I also informed them that the bible commands us that "thou shalt not make any graven images.....and that thou shalt not bow down to them or to serve them". They never enforced my suspension or asked me about it again.
As far as pledging to serve Obama? He is there to serve US, just like the rest of our supposed "public servants". Oh but we do live in the land of doublespeak, don't we?
