A sad day indeed. Without Les Paul's inventions the music world would be very different than what it is today. Yet, he had a good run.

RIP Les Paul.

This is truly a sad day for Modern music.

Les Paul contributed 100x's more than Michael Jackson ever did and he won't even get a mention on the evening news.

RIP

On the contrary, it's a day to remember and celebrate.

Les Paul overcame a serious accident and subsequent disability to become a successful musician, a brilliant studio innovator, a pioneer of electronics in music and the inventor of the solid-bodied electric guitar.

He made his name, made his fame, retired in comfort and died at the ripe old age of 94. And he will be remembered with fondess by fans of his music and everybody (myself included) who ever played a real electric guitar.

What is there to be sad about?
