Women who rock?

The Wilson sisters, Anne and Nancy. Lita Ford wasn't horrible. Madonna? Not even in the conversation, sorry... Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Pat Benatar, Blondie, and so many others.

But Anne and Nancy Wilson were, and still are, the bomb. I had such a crush on both of 'em back in the day. Vaaa-vaaa vooooom!!

Yeah, Patti Smith is definately a unique talent and deserves a lot of recognition.

But after my personal liking for Nico, for many reasons, I still have to stick with Janis Joplin.

This is a video from somewhere in Germany and it just cracks me up, Janis gives her usual awesome performance but crowd reaction is hilarious starting with the first girl Janis gets on stage with her, she is crapping herself from start to finish.
The guy with a white shirt and black tie dancing with Janis is a knockout and then right at the end a Kevin Rowland lookalike springs out of nowhere.
Who says the Germans have no sense of humour.
Pure class, how Janis maintained her composure throughout and delivers such powerful vocals is beyond me, I would have been doubled up!

And here's Janis at her best.

Robert Plant, James Brown, Paul Weller (in the Jam days)

Best frontwomen:

Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Karen O

First one that comes to mind is David Lee Roth.
Couldn't sing worth a crap but he sure could put on a show though.
Eddie and Alex actually hired and eventually fired him for this very reason.

All those other people on the list are good too though but noone cares or talks about them. Thing is Michael Jackson is the king like elvis except not fat or the product of incest.

Sleep well sweet prince.

If you had posted your comments on Jackson alone I would have silently disagreed but offered no comment out of respect for another's opinion, for that is what this thread is about.

But why critisize a man who many believe, not I, to be the greatest ever whilst praising a man who many believe to be a drug addicted, mentally unstable paedophile?

No-one else has offered any criticism or insults to other's opinion, why drag this thread down?

Your post offers nothing postive to this thread.

Most of the people I'd put at the top of the list get mentioned in these threads all the time so I'm going to cheat a little and mention a solid second (ok maybe 3rd) tier guy.
Peter Wolf of the J. Geils band can get a room rockin. I must have seen them a half dozen times in the 70-80's as it seemed like they opened for everybody back then.

The era I'm thinking of.

Another one just because it's fun

One of the best live bands I've ever seen.

Toss up between Ozzy, David Lee Roth, Phil Anselmo and Steven Tyler.

You would have to drink 4 cases of red bull and do a few lines to keep up with anyone of them on stage.
