Finally a solid number regarding how many troops the Pentagon wants to keep in Iraq. The Pentagon has decided it will keep 135,000 troops in Iraq through the end of next year, due to the ongoing increase in Violence.

Pentagon to Keep 135,000 Troops in Iraq

The decision acknowledges Iraq is much more dangerous than generals had hoped earlier this year, when they planned to cut the number of occupying troops to about 115,000.

I, for one, am not shocked that they have decided to raise the number of troops occupying Iraq from the original 115,000 they intended. This will definitely be stretching our militaristic resources quite thin, and rotating forces out of other countries and into Iraq is probably going to occur. Makes the draft look like more of a possibility.
