looks like a direct rip of of alien nation - has holywierd run out of new ideas ?

some people think this movie is actually a cover-up for the Halo movie.

As if the released teaser trailer isn't indicative enough, the Halo movie has been suspended indefinitely as of May 2009 due to disagreements over distribution rights. Albeit it wouldn't be surprising if Neill Blomkamp came up with the story while working on the script for Halo.

Really good find! can't wait to see the movie.

District 6 was a well known are in Cape Town, South Africa. It was declared a whites only area and all non-whites were relocated from it.
It is quite a well known landmark in the history of apartheid (separate development).

District Six (Afrikaans Distrik Ses) is the name of a former inner-city residential area in Cape Town, South Africa. It is best known for the forced removal of over 60,000 of its inhabitants during the 1970s by the apartheid regime.

By the way, in case you are wondering what the 2 towers in the movie poster are, the one on the right is Ponte Tower, and the one on the left is the Hillbrow Tower.

During the 1990s, after the end of apartheid, many gangs moved into the building and it became extremely unsafe. Ponte City became symbolic of the crime and urban decay gripping the once cosmopolitan Hillbrow neighborhood. The core filled with debris five stories high as the owners left the building to decay.[1] There were even proposals in the mid-1990s to turn the building into a highrise prison. The building came under new management in 1999, and this has improved security as well as the standard of repair.[1]

Ponte

The Hillbrow Tower was closed to the public in 1981, "due to security reasons". Before then it had been one of the city's greatest tourist attractions.

isnt it strange how it all takes place with a HUGE spacecraft in S Africa, the showing site of the proposed Oct 14th event last year but were scared off due to large amounts of US military at the port...

i think the director has been looking at blossom goodchild channelings way to much lol

does look like a rip off of "Alien Nation" though
