So Now What?

- Now there will be a lot of crying by those who voted for him.
I feel bad for them. They actually believed him.

- Now there will be a lot of crying by those who didn't vote for him.
We all can see where he is taking us. And it's VERY frightening.

- Now there will be great gains by the NWO. Things are moving rapidly.

- Now we can only hope for divine intervention.
And frankly ... I don't think that'll happen.

- So .... we continue to be screwed.

Now we get to vote in a republican again in 2012, so they can fail to deliver on their promises next. After that, when they screw up and squander the public's trust again, we can get it from the democrats again.

Add, rinse, and repeat until the entire country crumbles.......

Star for you. This is exactly what will happen. Same #, different day. Or election, or what have you.

Well, I can say with authority, that a certain segment of our population will want to give him another four years, since this is all Bush's fault.

Exactly. Nothing happens now. We all just sit back and complain like we do day in and day out because no one really knows what in the bejesus we are supposed to do. We don't really know how to defeat these a-holes. The problem with trying to go toe-to-toe with these kinds of people is that they are the ones more willing to play dirty. How is someone who tries to play by the rules supposed to win against someone who doesn't?

This IS the cycle, as you said. People got plenty p'ed off enough at Bush (finally, it only took me about, oh, A DAY) to vote in someone who promised a country makeover. The Bush people let down their guard because they thought it was in the bag. Now, the Bush people are ticked and they will be fighting harder than ever next election and the people who get p'ed off enough at Obama (finally) will vote for a Republican and the dems will then let their guard down because they'll think they have it in the bag.

I think the real problem is the independents. Because the die hard pubs and dems will vote accordingly every single election. But it's the independents who make or break it. I don't mean REAL independents. I mean the ones who go back and forth between the pubs and the dems deciding which is the 'lesser' evil. They're the ones who flip flop every 4-8 years on cue. If they actually started voting like and for REAL independents, this country would have a fighting chance.

Unfortunately, the vast majority still buy into the Republican vs. Democrats game as if they are the only contenders who matter.

I think it was good until the end. A bit wishy washy.

If violence is not the solution, and protest is, then provide some details.

I don't think protest will do squat, peaceful protest anyways. It will just be spun like the tea parties were.

Now this is a powerful video www.youtube.com...

My head is absolutely spinning with this. Add, rinse, repeat. OMG.
It's true. It literally makes me nauseous.

But can we.....not give up......yet? Give Obama some time? My thoughts are he must be in a tailspin, because of the things he's learned. I bet when he took office he didn't know a fraction of what he knows now. He's having to digest all of it, all the things we don't know, and maybe will never know. The things he didn't know. The things that have been concealed from us all, including Senators. If he's changing course on some things, maybe this is the reason. Not because he wants to, but because he has to, based on the disclosure of certain information. I mean think about it. Printing trillions of dollars is a huge no-no. Why would he do that? The man is a Harvard grad. He knows better. May be because we are way, way closer to collapse than we know, and it was an absolute last resort. And why he is changing about Gitmo, and Afghanistan? Maybe he has learned we are under more danger than we can imagine. I've been negative about politics my entire life. But now I am trying to have a little faith. I won't be naive...I'm too experienced for that, but I do want to try to be supportive, and have faith, until I can't anymore.

I think its common sense to assume its going to take longer than six months to see completely change this nation. I think your just trying to hurl out flame across partisan lines again. What was mess that accumulated over an 8year period from the last administration aint going to be solved in a matter of months, sorry.

I've said this since before Obama got nominated:

"Read his books. Study his politics."

This isn't about parties, R or D.

It is about an agenda to re-form the U. S. away from a capitalist economy and socially conservative society.

Change is here. More is coming.

Obama will take finance and production from the "speculators" and "vultures" (as he has already slandered 'capitalist' lenders and investors). Remember his speech about his takeover of Chrysler? "I do not stand by them."

Who will he give them to? "I stand with the workers, the families, the communities," he said.

Remember what he told "the plumber?" "Spread the wealth (Redistribution)."

As for foreign relations and diplomacy? He and Hillary have already 'apologized' for past 'transgressions.' He will let the rest of the world take the lead, and follow their consensus. He's already endorsed the U.N.'s International Criminal Court; more is coming.

Obama doesn't care if the U.S. is no longer an influential force in the world community - he's happy to just be part of the community.

The U.S. is his neighborhood, and he is re-organizing it as we watch. This is what he ran on, remember? He's a community organizer and the U. S. is his community.

Just like he said in his books. Just as he did in his political activities.

Don't say I never told you so.

Deny ignorance!

Deny ignorance!

I love it when the people that lecture us on "Denying Ignorance" end up making the most IGNORANT, inflammatory, conspiratorial, statements that are based on ..... air.... absolutely nothing.

The more married you are to a "concept," and the more it becomes gospel, the more closed-minded one tends to be about issues. You lose your impartiality and begin to speak in code, talking points, and buzzwords. Sean Hannity's buzzword o the week is "Freightened!"

Everything frightens him right now about Obama. We should all be freightened! Obama' policies are freightening!! Boogyman!!! Boo!!

Obama's a "SOCIALIST"... Scary!! Nazi!! Communist!!!

He wants to redistribute wealth!! Nazi!!! Communist.

He's an enemy of Capitalism!!!

Get over yourself.

As if Capitalism is a flawless system. It's a powerful, wonderful system. But its not flawless. When did we stop improving ourselves and our country? Where, other than the Bible and the Constitution, is it acceptable not to IMPROVE and CHANGE with the times? When you stop improving, that's when we need to ask ourselves whether or not we stopped "thinking."

Last I check Obama wants to:

  1. Slow This Recession - It is widely accepted by most people with a brain that the way to do that is by increased short-term spending. That's what he's doing... Check!
  2. Repair Our World Standing - We need friends in this world. We are NOT the elitist country Bush reflected to the world. We need to engage our enemies and understand what their motivators are. Re-emphasize that the US DOES NOT torture, close Guantanamo. So far so good. Obama's Presidency has already improved our standing in the world, but it is going to take time to undo 8 years of elitist, isolationist BS. So, he's on his way! Check!
  3. Fix Bush's Mess - A collapsing financial market, banking industry, housing market, auto industry... Wow... That's alot. What's he done so far? 2 spending bills, GM about to go into bankruptcy (finally). So far so good, albeit a bit slow... Check!
  4. Invest in Our Future - Smartly spend to limit the recession, but on infrastructure, which has been ignored forever in this country. Check!
  5. Lower Taxes - Yes, Repubs... LOWER... on most Americans. Check!
  6. Give Everyone a Shot at Good Health - Unless your in the pockets of the health industry, or just brainwashed by them... OUR MEDICAL SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK! Some things should not be solely private. The companies are in on it. There is NO competition. EVERYONE deserves to live a healthy life. There is no rational moral argument against Universal Healthcare. The only one that exists is the scare tactic of socialsm. FIRST you have to prove what exactly is wrong with socialism before just reciting scary rhetoric. Second, when you use Cuba, Europe, and Canada to argue the first point, you need to a)come up with real stats on how those systems are inferior to ours and b)tell me why you feel this country is so unimaginative and inventive that it couldn't take any of those country's core systems and IMPROVE THEM?
  7. Legalize Immigrants - Finally bring these people out of the darkness and make them productive contributors to this economy. Whether you like it or not, it has to be done so we can move forward. I'm tired of waiting for people to come around on this. Just do it already, legitimize a zillion workers (well, not that many), and fix our borders. Done. End of Story.

This is only a few... Not very radical if you ask me. Just counter to the crap policies we've had over the past 8 years. I, for one, am happy to try something new.

And given the man has only been in office a few months, I'd say he's off to a pretty good start.

I dunno.... Seems like an awful lot of good, positive change to me.

So what if Hillary apologized? We haven't always been right. That doesn't make us weak to apologize, it shows our integrity.

And Redistribution of Wealth??!?! Hate to tell ya, but we already redistribute wealth all over the place in this country. Don't act like this is a concept that was introduced on inauguration day.

Plus, what the heck is wrong with everyone prospering? Don't we need to help one another? American's aren't stingy egomaniacs. We help are own even if it means paying a little more. This mentality is exactly why we, the most powerful nation in the world, can't eradicate poverty in this country.

if a gov. has no fear of its people its people are doomed.
the time for talk and half measures is over. protesting?lol
we are going to see change ,you can believe that. in ths
form of mass sterilization of the american way of life. i
know its tough to accept ,but they are planning our demise
right in front of us.and as long as we still have our warm
beds and t.v.s to go home to every night, they will continue
to get away w/ it. if we cant recognise this threat for what it
is.as a people . pull together as a people. then all is most
definetly lost and its every man for himself. right to the
bitter end. you people better get a grip .

Whew! Well then, may I recommend pepto bismol, because you are taking your own self on this hateful ride. I think most people are choosing not to go with you. I know I won't.

I am hopeful. The last eight years are the only ones I remember actually "fearing" for my country and what we have become, and what we are doing to our beautiful planet, and the rest of the world.

Now, maybe, we have a chance. Better or indifferent. It can't be worse.

Peace.
