What is the deal with the red label just below your name on this site. Some like writers are self explainitory. What are all the labels and what can I do to get a better label than fighter(unless of course fighters are the cool ones
)?

good question ! I once saw a post that explained the different meanings of the titles, I'll see if I can find it, however I'll bet that a mod will beat me to it.

hold on...

JRod,

You in the titles for various reasons...fighters are those who have participated in debates....other titles are for participating in various other things...

Rest assured though, Fighters are the COOL ones.

Ok, this could have gone in the board questions forum. But to awnser your question before I move it...

Fighters are debaters, Scholars are Research Forum, writers is more "self explanitory" than fighters is, and no. Fighters are no cooler than any of the others.
"Scholar", who by the way are the COOLEST OF THEM ALL!

Writer means you write obviously.
Fighter means you've been in a debate tournament.
Scholar means you're part of a research team.

wasn't there some talk a while back...

about having the following :

New person : 1-3 months = Trial Member

Regular person : 4-6 months = Jr member

6months - year = member

over 1 year = sr member

etc....

didn't I see something similar to this before ?

This would seem unfair in my view i mean would we have something like this, this is like a probation thing is sounds too silly.

elevatedone, some boards have that based on post count. ATS even did for a time a long time ago if I remember correctly.

I'm having fun with the writing, but I think I'd rather concentrate on one thing at a time until things get more settled here. Joining a research group would be interesting to do, but you need relative peace to do it , which it something I get little of right now.

All I know is that I wanted a scholar tag on mine. Research is my strong point out of everything, so I'm good at that.

To my understanding... a mod puts them under your name. You have to contact Forum Leaders (Staff I guess).

well not necessarily, trial member, but just different status' for time here and number of posts etc...

but then that opens the whole.... "point junkies" and one liner meaningless posts...

Hi glitch314!

"Awarded" is not the right term really. Essentially, *if* you want to "write" then U2U John Bull 1, if you want to take part in debates (and be styled a "Fighter"), then U2U Kano, if you want to be a "Scholar" ie do research, then either ADVISOR or Nyeff.

In the past, I've been a "writer" and "fighter" (never a "Scholar") - the thing is that you then actually do these things to "justify" the tag you have under your name. Look out for "competitions" in these forums - it certainly adds value to the board!!

Hope that helps a little bit?
