Mexico reopening

Anybody else think Mexico is making quite a stupid decision here? The virus will just spread like crazy again and their healthcare will collapse, and then everything will be closed once again. And yet:

"We have a lot of confidence nothing is going to happen," said Irineo Moreno Gonzales, 54, a security guard who Tuesday limited takeout customers to four at a time at a usually crowded downtown Starbucks. "Mexicans have the same spirit we've always had. We're ready to move forward."

...is he serious?

Maybe you're right, but no economy can endure a long shut down, an economic breakdown could be worst, because Mexico is already suffering the global financial crisis, unemployment, drug cartels violence, a water crisis among others. So, hard to tell...
