With the recent Swine Flu outbreak in NYC, Im wondering if this was some sort of Chemtrail coverup made to look like a "Photo-op" but was actually designed to be spraying NYC with a sort of chemical repellant to this disease (seeing as its airbourne variant.)
I'd like to know wether any METAR reports show the wind coming off the Hudson river into the downtown city area, as 2000ft should effectively cover a wide area, and the fact it caused mass panics and people to run onto the streets also gives rise to this theory.

The more I think about what happened this morning the more I think the official story is BS. I have been working in the area for 9 years now. I was here during 9/11. If there are any planned training or evacuation drills in the area all the buildings are notified well in advance so nobody panics. If the building next door is running fire drills we know about that morning. It makes no sense that we were not told in advance that a low flying plane with military jets would be buzzing the area.

Better picture here.

i39.tinypic.com...

I really can't believe someone had this idea and thought it was a good thing to do. Very chilling.

When it comes to Air Force One and the USAF I don't think there is any such thing as a 'no fly zone'!

Military are always by the book.. there would have to be an exceptional reason to break their own flying restrictions as bending security rules effects the confidence in that security (abroad as well). The sheer amount of money it would take to fly those things could never be justified with "just taking photos".

It's a cover story.. and not a very good one.

A 747 flying 20 feet from a building? That's a really good pilot! That'd be like driving an 18-wheeler less than 1 inch away from other objects.

Me thinks those people reporting this are a tad bit off on their visual distancing.

A 747 at that altittude assuming they were maintaining the 250 knot speed limit below 10000' would be burning around 30000 - 40000 lbs fuel/hour. The F-16 around 15000 lbs/hour. THat's lots of JP8 used to get some shots of Air Force 1 over New York.

I find it odd that people discount the comment '20 feet from the building' but when you say that a plane could not fly like that in regards to 9/11 you are a 'Truther'.

Que sera sera

EDIT--
Something about this smells fishy, real fishy. I am anxious to hear more eyewitness accounts.

Least the pictures give crediblity to the supposed 'cover story'.

Not really. 30000 pounds an hour is only about 4,386 gallons an hour. It may seem like alot but it really isn't. Figure double that to account for all three and you have less then 9,000 gallons an hour. Still not that much when you consider that the AF uses C130's to give JROTC parents a ride every year for no real reason. Now those things can suck some fuel.

The only pics I have seen are ones that look like a 747 on approach. They look like they are close to buildings, but that can be attributed to the angle of the shot.

I thought that low would be a no fly zone? Why would they need to take pics of a look alike to air force 1? They could just use CGI if they needed it as a backdrop.. and they've just told the world they've got a decoy plane..? Put civilian life in danger (not to mention multimillion dollar aircraft) for some promo pics? Sounds like bollocks to me.. unless they've completely done away with risk assessment.

I think it was the real plane but they had to make a detour because of a security threat. Perhaps the airport he was meant to land at had a swine flu scare or something.. the timing is a little odd.

Everyone knows they have a decoy plane

They have had National Geographic specials about it
There are two planes, and neither are Air force 1 until the President is actually on board. Don't be so naive. I highly doubt the validity of some of the exaggerated closeness to buildings. It's hard to judge distance when you don't have a trained eye, even with Cameras. I'm willing to be the plane was at least 1000 feet from any building, and in fact from the pictures provided, they it looks even farther away than that.; I don't know why they would do this, that's up for debate, but geez, some of the responses here are just plain...well...stupid.

I don't see why anyone would get worked up over this... I mean NY does have experience in dealing with low flying planes...And tons of people are layed off, so they're not in those buildings anyway... And the rest are all probably at home trying to avoid the Swine flu. Besides, they needed a photo op of some sort from Obama as he hasn't been seen since this Flu business started.

[/sarcasm]

What idiots. And the ones who approved this shenanigans are in charge of keeping us safe.

And if it really is a photo op - let them produce the pictures and the person who was charged with taking them.

WTF!

What if some patriotic bunch with enough firepower took down that plane thinking it was another terrorist attack.

No medals but a trip to somewhere dark and secluded for being the terrorists themselves!

This "training" mission was a deliberate exercise to bring yet more fear to the masses, and advanced warning should have been OBVIOUS unless the plan WAS fear, and WHY the need for those planes anyway...what are all the multi-billion dollar satellites for?

How do people know who's on who's side anymore?

Sidenote: what if this was the latest test for the holographic/audio projection methods and the plane wasn't even real? Yeah, yeah, I know......but actually...we don't KNOW do we?

Fooled you all. Next comes the earth invasion!

edit...how were people to know the fighters weren't in pursuit and not escorting.

Poor joe public.

Do they? yeah I know everyone is meant to know about all things american but I'm aussie so fell behind in my studies. :shk: Regardless of it being "common knowledge" ..I don't think they would be using top aircraft for silly ventures.

A military decoy plane would be used as a militry decoy.. not for taking happy snaps or joy flights.

Yes, but WHY the need for a commercial sized plane AND two fighters just to take photographs?

Unless it was neccessary for the view to be from the large jet and it's viewpoint. But WHY?

You know there's more to this than the public are told.....cos we is dum inn'I

Does anyone know where Obama is right now? Just out of interest. Using one of the two planes that are used for air force one for an operation like this sounds strange. Surely the military has planes more suited to the job? The operation itself would be strange regardless of the plane being used.

I'm fairly sure the aircraft was the subject for the photos and not the view point - probably a good excuse for a luxury champaign sightseeing brunch for the top brass and their partners!

The fighters always go with air force one.

You can ask why until your are blue in the face and you will never get the actual truth.

Eyes only Above Top Secret "Photo Op"

They are lucky this didn't cause a panic that resulted in injuries or deaths.

This has to rank as THE most stupid stunt involving aircraft I have ever seen, given the location the aircraft involved and the timing AND, the fact that so many people were unaware of what was going on.

Citizens should arm themselves with anti-aircraft weapons and if in the future this happens do their best to shoot down any threatening aircraft that enters their airspace without prior warning.

We had a bit of a scare this morning around NYC. A low flying 747 was circling lower Manhattan and came very close to buildings across the river in Jersey City, NJ. Some construction workers said that the plane came within maybe 20 feet from a building. All the buildings in the area were evacuated. The military is saying that this was a training excercise. People in the area are not really buying this explaination. Usually there would be advanced notification about something like this and the plane came very close to occupied buildings in the area. I saw the plane flying at about 1000 feet over my building followed by 2 military jets. Bad idea if this was just training.

I love how the girl in video says " OMG thats not normal. It's a hijacking . I know it "

Jumps to conclusions because that is what we are trained to think since 9/11.....

You think they purposely did not warn people to instill a bit of fear from remembering 9/11 ??
