Ya, I know there are not full size subs. Just smaller test size subs. But I was just using it as a example that there could be a slim chance that the Navy could use the Great Lakes for testing similar subs.

maybe it's a chinese or russian sub!

the russian "salmon class" was designed to be able to leap up niagra falls, eh.
and, then there's the chinese "flying fish" sub which can leap and then glide for miles on gossamer wings.

It's not in the great lake, but there is one that as been beached and transformed into a museum in Rimouski, Quebec on the bank of the St-Lawrence river. It's the Onondaga.

There has been a few problems in getting that sub out of the water, the picture on the wiki show the sub when they first tried to get it out. We where then called to make it right.

The museum open this June, Rimouski... it's a very nice place to visit.
