I've just been realizing that some of the logic that skeptics use on here in attempt to debunk ufo evidence just doesn't make sense to me.
First of all, why would someone who doesn't believe at all even come to a website like this, register, and try to prove people wrong? Surely it can't be because they are bored.
So could some of the skeptics here be government officials making the ufo topic seem unlikely?
I bet there are quite a few hundred of them on here if you ask me.

Well ATS has been a bastion for Tin Foil people for a while now and I am sure some of the intelligence agencies have taken notice. We see our fare share of disinformation agents, but we tend to weed them out quite quickly.

I don't think any established members are government agents, doesn't really seem like a project that would be worth undertaking.

Good to be suspicious, but never underestimate the power of the bored!

You wouldn't believe what some do to pass the time around my work. It's likely that we are just a good joke of the day site for those types of folks.

Yes. I'm one of the tin foilers (except that I never did know what tinfoil hats have to do with anything) --

If they are going to strip search a five-year old and put him on a no fly list, what makes you think they won't be searching the forums for people like a lot of us who post here?

Of course they are here. The NASA people post exclusively on debunking the moon hoax threads here. That's ALL they do. They are RIGHT ON IT IN A FLASH.

If there were no moon hoax threads running here for a few weeks and then one started up, bingo, they'd be right here posting. Some have been monitoring this place for YEARS.

Well, I wouldn't put it past them. What better way to see what people who question everything think? They go directly to the source! You never know, be weary but don't be afraid to voice what you think!

I can tell you for a 100% fact government employees do read these threads.

I think you are misinterpreting others.

Many of us want to find TRUTH. And if we see something posted that is probably not "truth" we feel the need to set things straight. If you find something wrong with that, then I dont know how to help you.

I have yet to see anyone here who doesnt believe that "something" that can not be explained is going on. (regarding UFOs, since you brought that topic up) The thing is.....some of us choose to use logic and seek truth rather then fall for everything posted on YouTube. *see my signature* We choose to investigate matters, rather then just read and blindly believe.

If you have been here for any length amount of time, you will see that people will post crap, hoaxes and flat out lies for whatever reason. I would hope you would want all that crap weeded out.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a MIB onboard

However, them trying to debunk UFO/Conspiracy cases on ATS would be a waste of our precious tax payer's money, wouldn't it? (Joke, about the precious tax payer money)

I think if anything, they're here for when extreme events to break the light of day, they destroy them, gain access to Skeptic's DBs and make sure they don't continue, or, invade the servers remotely using the beloved patriot act that Obama so wittingly reinstated remove any data they don't see fit. Why argue something, when you can just remove it? I mean, all in all they are the government.

Freedom of Speech? Freedom of Writing? Freedom of Internet?

Haha, Freedom with a Fence around it.

you know what, just a guess here.
i bet they have other things to be occupying their time with, you know, more important things? like solving conflict and war? getting us out of the economic crisis? saving the world and all that stuff? or would it come under national security, reading the ramblings of some bored people on one website out of the billions that exist. ATS poses no real threat to anybody the governenment at the absolute most know that this site exists but will not really care.

During the election this site was full of people working for the republicans.
You could spot them a mile out, jamie rings a bell.

I have no dout some on this site and here for more than a good debate.

But, you also see some absolutley stupid threads, it reptilians taking over the whilehouse.

These people must scoff at us, One day ATS will be used as a means of evidence or public opinion on a mainstream world media.

Someone will come back with

'' the same ats that believes reptiles have taken over the whitehouse ''

and we will immediately be pushed aside like the trashy tabloids.

Never under estimate what competition between government departments can lead to. Over here in Britain we have several agencies that, in effect, spend half their time trying to outdo each other so they can claim more cash, more kudos and more control over a specific area of security.

This means that, they will go looking in the most curious of places for *security threats*, some of which would do justice to the most tin foil hatted people. The bottom line is , worldwide, certain security forces are forever trying to get the *drop* on others because it is human nature..
People such as Mossad have the dirt on everyone and have set up more stings and honey traps over the years than , probably the CIA and KGB combined. In Britain MI5 doesn't trust MI5 and Special Branch can;t stand either of those two. Ergo they spend a lot of their time digging in the weirdest of places for *threats to police*..

However, on this part of the forum i would guess we are considered just all barking mad and no real threat at all. However, i would assume it is monitored by those keeping an eye on anyone giving away military secrets and other parties are monitoring to see if they can glean any one else's secrets. i mean how many people have heard that, we in Britain have a specialist Department of Intelligence for Scientific Studies? It's part of the Ministry of Defense but you won't find much on, who runs them and what they are interested in. However, they were involved in the Solway Firth Spaceman picture investigation, so if they are still going, it's logical to assume this sort of forum is probably kept tabs on. If for nothing else than they would hate to be the last to know if something truly big, story wise, broke.

You didn't mention which government but there are about 2.7 million civilian employees of the US federal Government. I'm going to guess at an average of 40,000 State employees per state. That gives a total of about 4.7 million. If you include foreign governments, the odds are pretty good that yes, there are government employees who view and may even (shudder) be members.

I bet though that if there are government agents as members, they would spread disinfo especially on accounts they know are real. However I really don't think they would do much of anything unless one of us found something solid.

This is likely a monitored place of communications. The likelyhood of a pawn signing up and disinforming us on purpose is low. I would imagine they watch, and if we managed to get on to something big, they would start an early strategy for discrediting it in the media, so even if we uncovered something, no one would hear it.

I know people here strive for truth in all of the oddities of this world, but some fail to understand, if 'the powers that be' do not want the masses to find out, there's nothing you can do to change it. They will always be one step ahead of you, from anything you research, to anything you say....

I think we're lucky if we are able to find any truth and just keep it to ourselves.... just my thought.

like duh.

If a place with some many random people and stories exists then every once in a while someone manages to whack a mole. So the place probably has at least one dude of the US government earning his paycheck by watching this place.

Offcourse, you can also aks questions about the credibility of the people running the site..or the servers the site is hosted on. Meh, I like clouds.

I don't think all of them are government people... maybe just non-believers who believe in one aspect of conspiracy theories like secret societies, and not UFOs.

Maybe SOME are INDEED government officials.

Who knows?

Until they admit.

But how are they going to? They won't....
