Pictures of Kim Jong-il Raise Questions Over Authenticity

www.koreatimes.co.kr

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has allegedly made a public appearance after more than 50 days in seclusion according to photos released by the North Korean media Saturday, but suspicions are rising that the pictures were taken before his alleged brain surgery.

North Korean Central Television aired roughly 10 images of Kim in his trademark khaki jumpsuit and sporting sunglasses inspecting a military unit.

Other state media repeatedly reported the news but none confirmed when the pictures were taken.

A senior official at the Unification Ministry in Seoul, asking to remain anonymous, said that the ministry had difficulty identifying when the pictures were taken because the North gave little information about them.

is Kim Jong-il dead?
has NK been taken over by a rogue leader?
could NK have their own shadow government keeping the population in the dark?
being such a secretive nation no-one would ever know if they knocked ol' KIM and a military leader took his place. it would be easy to have doubles of kim appear here and there just like that iraqi dictator.... what was his name? hehe
perhaps kim is scared someone is gonna knock him. like they did to JFK and tried on castro.

It's honestly hard to say if they are different people, a clone perhaps.

The ears and nostrils seem to match, even the cheekbones are seemingly accurate.

Would be nice if we had more then just one one new photo to examine with different perspectives of his face to cross examine against other photos.

That's not Kim Jong-il. This dude isn't wearing any lipstick.

If he was dead, would the North Koreans admit it? Of course not. He's referred to ( More or less ) as a living god in their educational system and media, and they could hardly have their 'Great Leader' give up the ghost because of a botched surgery.

Given their love of secrecy and execution, I would venture to guess any doctor who witnessed his death would've joined him in it before they could tell anyone.

see that's what i'm talking about... ill try to compile some photos of this dude. the theory that kim jong-il is just a talking head is so feesable. the nation is so secretive. kim is responsible.
perhaps without him the next in line felt that the misplaced respect/fear of the nation would fail leaving them vunerable to western influence. something they have fought against for so long.

I think the debate is not whether its actually him in the picture, but rather, when were these photos taken.

He may be in rough shape and still alive, but they don't want the world to perceive that, so they show these pictures where he seems ok.

It's all about perception.
