Look at a map. Count the number of Arab speaking majority Muslim countries. Color them red. Color Israel blue.

Palestinean Arabs (unlike say Turks or Kurds) are not a separate ethnic group from Egyptians, Jordanians, Syrians, Lebanese (except the Druze), Saudis and Iraqis. Yasser Arafat was born in Egypt.

Israel has as much a right to exist as does Pakistan. Look, they were both created in about 1948/1949, and for essentially the same reason. And yes, like Pakistan, there was movement BOTH ways. Yes, many Jews fled from the Arab countries in 1948 (and alot after pogroms in 1967) to Israel. At the end of WW2 there were about 150,000 Jews living in Baghdad, as they had for over two thousand years. Now, maybe 5-10, in hiding, all over 70.

Is there a "right of return" of millions of Hindus agitating to get back (along with all descendents however related) to their ancestral homes?

How many Indian Hindus really think it would be acceptable to obliterate the state of Paksitan? There's a few, but not many. Even now the difference is over just a part of a part, i.e. Kashmir.

For good reason. They could start by getting the hell off palestinian land. I'm sure the buldozing of houses, shooting of rock throwing kids, and the frequent assasinations isnt winning their hearts.

Today, Israeli Troops kill 9 Palestinians including a 13 year old boy today in response to the rocket attacks in the Gaza Strip. Yesterday Israeli troops killed 4 Palestinians and injured 25 in the same area. 9 Israelis have been slightly hurt since the rocket attacks began.

A column of tanks backed by helicopter gunships rumbled into the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya before dawn, searching for militants firing makeshift rockets at Israeli towns and Jewish settlements.

The nine Palestinians were killed in battles over a dusty wasteland of demolished buildings, medics said, and another 40 people were wounded. The army said troops had come under heavy fire from rifles, grenades and anti-tank rockets.

Among the four gunmen whom Palestinian sources said were killed was a local leader of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a militant faction of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's Fatah Movement. It vowed to exact revenge.

"Everyone we hit was either armed or planting bombs," an Israeli army spokesman said. One soldier was wounded in the exchanges of fire, a military source said.

The source confirmed that soldiers had shot at least two armed Palestinians who approached them. One teenage stone-thrower crumpled to the ground. Medics said he was in critical condition after being shot in the chest.
