Liberals told to leave: An instructor for a hunter safety course orders Obama voters to get out of his class.

www.tulsaworld.com

The class was a reward of sorts. Dunkley, who wants to go hunting with his grandfather, was told he could take the class only if he brought up his grades.

So he did — to a B-plus average.

But when father and son arrived at the lesson, the volunteer instructor, Kell Wolf, asked if any of the students voted for President Barack Obama.

Reddy, a transplanted Californian — and former Marine — raised his hand.

According to Reddy and others in the room, Wolf called Obama "the next thing to the Antichrist" and ordered Reddy and Dunkley from the room. When Reddy refused, Wolf said he would not teach "liberals" and would cancel the course if Reddy didn't leave.

Oklahoma has served up yet another plate of flaming dog doo for me to retch over. Oklahoma is the reddest state in the nation and it shows. The paranoia and anti-intellectualism are at an all time high. I am a native Oklahoman, liberal, gun owner and yet I don't feel threatened by President Obama. I love my guns. I would say that the fear of Obama is the new homophobia. As is the case with the hunting instructor, there are some serious Freudian issues at play here.

Regrettably there are a lot of firearms instructors who have an over-inflated opinion of both themselves and their skills.

I've seen my fair share.

This guy is just one more idiot, but don't forget there are plenty of good ones too.

Wouldn't that just make it bad for his business? I mean, Liberal/Conservative - gun owners are gun owners, they enjoy the sport and that's that. Plenty of other instructors out there and this guy made an ass out of himself period.

It's hard to believe that such closed-minded people exist, but I know it's a fact. This is the 'sports team mentality' that is far too many times associated with politics and the two-party system.

If this shooting instructor had more than 2 brain cells to rub together, he would have seen that the father who was rewarding his son with shooting lessons - you know, the 2 smiling guys with the guns ARE on "his team".

Regardless who they voted for, they clearly share in the instructors appreciation of firearms. What an idiot, really. :shk:

wow... I can't think of one reasonable reason why that could be considered an appropriate action to take. Perhaps at the least he was getting a lot more gun-control advocates that were purposely enrolling in the class to disrupt it. That is just an assumption of course. Politics never need to be taken this strongly. It is still legal for different ideology in america right?

Anyways... "liberals" arn't exactly innocent in this kind of behavior either.

I sincerely hope people don’t judge Hunter Safety Classes by this doorknob.
I was an instructor for 6 years and I met some of the very best salt-o-the-earth people as fellow instructors and students.
This guy is just a sour grapes grunt.

I really urge everyone out there (who can) to take Firearms Instruction Classes and/or Hunters Safety.
Right along with EMT Classes.

A lot to ask this day in age when people are doing all they can just to make ends meet, but the skills you'll learn in these classes might not only just save your life someday but the life of someone you love.

(And no I’m not saying that’s all people are doing so don't wig on me)...

peace

This is the divisive crap we don't need. Period. This is what partisanship does to this country. I hope you hardcore partisans are paying attention. The same thing has been done to former Bush supporters and McCain supporters. When are we going to realize we are ONE nation and the ENEMY is the Government regardless of party?!

Oh lordy...
I wouldn't kick someone who voted for McCain out of my yoga class....

Then again...yoga and guns don't have much in common.

Again, there are many people, and many of then are conservatives (not all) who see the world in black and white while others see it in all shades of grey. Just another example of "if you're not with us, you're against us!".

In Oklahoma and here in Texas we have the largest pool of stupid in the country. They say we're running out of oil but the stupid is rising out of its banks and we're all going to be wearing waders soon.

They should of just shot him in the face and called it a
"republican hunting accident"!

Who's been the conducter of the gravy train for the last eight years???
Probably the same one who started with a budget surplus!

The repubs aint got a leg to stand on anymore.
The right have already divided and ruined this country. Hang on!

"Liberals" are smart enough to see through the BS. They think
everyone is grown up enough to make up their own mind.(not good)
Republicans need religion or some other kind of mental crutch
to tell them what to believe in and what to think. (usually)

People throw words around like they really know what they mean.
Like "socialism"! LOL
LIBERALs believe in the rights of the individual,
CONSERVATIVES believe in the rights of the state and
the rights of the state to decide policies against people.
Seems to me America was built on liberal principles.
The only alternative to that IS socialism.

That's because you've bought into the myth that "liberals want to take our guns away". The truth is, you can't just group people by an ideology and assume that they're all going to agree on everything. Many liberals have guns and strongly support the 2nd Amendment. Try to let go of the "sports team mentality" illustrated by this story.

a mcain voter wouldnt be caught dead taking yoga.

Another incorrect assumption.

And another. :shk:

Thank you for posting that explanation I have to say.

This mentality you speak of is gonna get us all in trouble.
Oh, we're already there!!

Its the nascar watchin' , beer drinkin', sports worshipping,
testosterone laden male ego dripping with indignation
and indifference to others or much else going on.
Trusting and thinking the PTB will always be right.
Case in point is the recent killings at a high school basketball game.
Watch any school basketball game in the country, we root for blood. Literaly.
Pathetic, sad and is indicative or a good indicator of this mentality.
And I know, cause I'm a "recovering ego freak" also!

Ok... for the record... I don't agree with this man doing this either but since you made the statement that you couldn't think of one reasonable reason for I think I can help you out. He probably thinks that Obama is going to take away gun ownership rights and therefore his occupation. So he probably thought it was a reasonable thing to do. Sadly misguided.

meh,

Its his perogative to do so. Like the 'We reserve the right to refuse service" signs you see at a restaurant.

If this guy can afford to turn away customers for something as stupid as this economy then more power too him. In fact with that mentality the extended unemployment benifits may actually help him out.

Whats the problem? It's his class, he can refuse service to anyone he wants.

Oh, absolutely. I don't think anyone's saying he doesn't have a right.

But it's like having a dog grooming salon and someone brings in their precious pooch and I ask if they're have a cat and they say yes, they actually love cats. So I tell them to get out of my shop because we only want people who like dogs. I mean, she's bringing her dog in for a grooming. She obviously likes dogs.
