I don't have much for words about this time, but what I understand is it will affect everyone on ATS. an example of this bill will be this: I post something on ATS that say "I should go blow someone away" and someone reads it and does it, I would be held liable just as the person that pulled the trigger.

Where might such a high-minded, illustrious, and experienced organization be found? You guessed it. There’s only one "civil liberties" group remotely equal to that task, one which describes itself as “the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice, and bigotry," the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith.

This bill was defeated in congress 10 years age and again it is back.

I only watched a few minutes of that guy before turning it off.

He seems to have more issues with Homosexuals than the Hate Bill itself. I feel he's more afraid that if the bill was passed, he won't be able to incite violence against "Homosexual Interest Groups" and complain about them.

If the bill is passed, will he have any targets left?

Just my 1/15th of 1%, whatever it's worth.

Yes look I dont like these "politically correct" bills or laws proposed on speech. Everybody should be free to express how they feel and their opinions, whethere we agree with them or not. At the same time we get folks who abuse this right and make it their duty to discrimminate others on race, gender, sexuality, religion etc and incite harm or attacks to these groups, and then they go on about these bills and reference the "constitution" when evidently they have their own agendas and they are abusing that very right.

I think it goes ways, we should allow people freedom of speech but at the same time we should recognize the issues caused by those who abuse those rights in the constitution and who incite hard towards certain groups.

Anything that comes from the ADL I'd watch. This bill is the first step on our 1st Amendment rights, what guarantees we have that the next bill will be for another group. I don't care if one is homosexual, black, purple, green, whatever, if this bill goes thru we would be restricted from our opinions.

This bill sounds like socialism.

I can agree with that. Though, I maintain there's a difference between Free Speech and Hate Speech. People should be free to say whatever they want, as long as it doesn't incite violence against anyone's religion, race, political views, sexual orientation, gender, or (dis)abilities.

Except for those pinko gay Muslim women in wheelchairs.

(Just trying to be funny. I fail.

The bill won't pass. It's a clear violation of the first amendment. Even Ginsberg would have to agree to that.
