The human rights group said it had evidence both Israel and Hamas had used weapons sourced from overseas to carry out attacks on civilians.

It called for the UN Security Council to impose the embargo on all parties.

Both Israel and Hamas have rejected the conclusions of the report, in which Amnesty accuses each of war crimes.

In the report, Israel is accused of illegal use of white phosphorus and other armaments supplied by the US in Gaza, while Hamas is condemned for launching unguided rockets into Israel.

i doubt this would go through or even come to the voting stage as the US will with no doubt Veto something that effects Israel likes this, then again it would save americans over 2Billion+ a year

Hamas arms embargo? dont they get their gear from the black market anyway?

people cant say they are being biased against the Israelis only as they have called out both Hamas and Israelis on this one.

While the arms embargo may help to curb the rocket -fire and phosphorous use in the end the only side it would have any discernable effect on would be Hamas. Israel manufactures ALOT of thier own weaponry now while Hamas relies mainly on Syria, Iran and others sympathetic to thier causes. But realistically the embargo wouldn't have any teeth and the weapons would still flow freely.
