I need some help in this area. A beautiful, 13" beagle is coming to live with me within the next few weeks. And, I am going to need you all to match up puppies with names.

Puppy 1:

I need your input on which of of thesepuppies would be best for not only me, but for the puppies, as well.

Give them personalities,,,,,bring them out of their shells. Balance how they play with you and others,

Temperment can lead into the perfect name for the animal.

Knowing me, I'd probably name him "Bubba" and have to do something closer to naming him/her "Junior' OR 'Mss Priss"

Help me now scar my four-legged children for life.

(Thinks of a couple of Newspaper comics)

Avoid either "Odie" or "Puddles".

The first one I see an Artamus-Artie for short
The second one I am drawing a bland. It appears it should be something cute. Or it could be Roscoe!!! Don't forget about SchroDo that would be a good one too.

first one looks like a Scuba.

Second one has a regal look, and a name like King Winston would fit.

I like Roscoe, providing it's pronounced like I think it is...Ros-ko.

I like Bailey (Bae-li), My uncle had a (female) dog called Keg, and yes, she was named after a beer keg...:shk:

Roswell.

I have had a couple of beagles in my life. I love them, but they have very distinct personalities from other dogs.

If I ever get another one, I thought the name Holler would be a good one, since they do a lot of hollering!

They love to be outdoors, so be prepared to do a lot of walking unless you have a fenced in yard. They will latch onto a scent and follow it for miles, so if you are getting a female, you could also name her after your favorite scent, or perfume.

edit spelling

Are you sure you want a beagle? They won't let you sleep. Is it fair to get a dog you won't be able to tend to?

Beagles take a lot of work. They want to go outside constantly.

There are lots of other breads that won't be so demanding. Check around.

edit to add:

I don't mean to be rude, but have you checked out what type of bread might be more to your lifestyle?

The last beagle I had was one given to me by a guy who had no idea what they were like. She was adorable, and I kept her, until I found a guy who owned about 40 acres in Apache Junction, AZ.

I kidd you not, beagles take a lot of work. You may want the dog, but can you keep it, and be objective to your needs?

Gosh, I hate it when people get pets they are not sure of. Please research what beagles are like. They need a lot of room, lots of walks, and a yard.

edit to add again, beagles don't just need a name. They need a very dependable owner, to love them!

Puppy number one is just beatutiful...if it's a girl puppy, she looks like a Lulu to me. Actually if it's a boy puppy, he looks like a Lulu too.....

Gerald Durrell had two puppies as a child and they were called Widdle and Puke, as that's pretty much all they did. Don't fancy calling out those names in the park though...

Can't wait to see the other pics, and I will try to come up with some sensible suggestions, I promise...

*all broody now....*
