Questions on the Jewish messiah. Does jesus vouch for you or is he God?

Hi I'm just wondering what the specific traits that your messiah will (if you didn't believe christ was) or did (if you believe christ was) have. Specifically, I'm looking for any promises in jewish literature where it was said that when God sends his messiah he is to worshipped as God, but any general info would be appreciated. I'm kind of wondering if Jesus wasn't saying he was God but that if you believed God sent him he would "vouch" for you and God would listen to his son kind of thing.

any thoughts anyone?
