Gone are the chants of "Yes We Can!". They are being replaced by a message of doom and gloom and dire predictions by the man that sold a bill of goods to a nation of lemmings.

Today Barack Obama warned the American people that he intends to push his socialistic views on the nation, and he used the tactics of fear to drive his message home.

His words were also a tactic to bully Congress into accepting his proposals, which include higher taxation, decreased Social Security benefits, increased gov't spending, and a larger federal bureaucracy.

And if things get worse, well, he won't be to blame. After the "Blame Bush" mantra wears thin, he will have another scapegoat: the Senate and House of Representatives.

Here are a few excerpts from his speech, including a declaration that should have all of us shivering in our boots:

www.montrealgazette.com...

WASHINGTON — Appealing to an American public confronted daily with worsening economic news, U.S. president-elect Barack Obama warned Thursday the nation is headed for years of severe recession unless he wins approval for an unprecedented government stimulus package in the first weeks of his presidency.

Intensifying his campaign to build support for the economic rescue package, Obama said the U.S. government may soon be unable to prevent a long-lasting crisis without a huge injection of new spending and tax cuts to jolt the economy back to life.

"I don't believe it's too late to change course, but it will be, if we don't take dramatic action as soon as possible," Obama said at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.

"If nothing is done, this recession could linger for years. The unemployment rate could reach double digits. Our economy could fall $1 trillion short of its full capacity. . . . In short, a bad situation could become dramatically worse."

He was also hoping the dire message would increase pressure on Congress — particularly Republicans and conservative Democrats — not to throw up roadblocks to block the passage of stimulus legislation by early February.

"For every day we wait or point fingers or drag our feet, more Americans will lose their jobs," he said. "And our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse."

And, the most troubling excerpt, one that flies in the face of every principle that made America the greatest nation on earth:

"Only government can break the vicious cycles that are crippling our economy — where a lack of spending leads to lost jobs, which leads to even less spending, where an inability to lend and borrow stops growth and leads to even less credit."

"Only gov't can fix our problems. Get ready for tougher times. Pass my proposals or else. We need to spend another $800 billion.

And this guy hasn't even been sworn in yet.

Careful there. That's been the reply made by his supporters for 2 months now, don't want to spoil their fun already.

Yes, it has begun. When the Presidential campaign was going on, I tried to post information about the newly published book "The Audacity of Deceit", but it was immediately removed due to the temporary standards. In fact, I had written the post, which took awhile before the temp, standards were in place, but the rules and my post crossed. Anyway, here is the information that I tried to post, to educate people as to what Obama's change was really about:
www.amazon.com...

What lies beneath Barack Obama's well-polished rhetoric will shock you. Obama touts 'change' but his version is nothing less than a frontal assault on American values and traditions. Obama's goal? Bring America to her knees through a policy of 'managed decline.' On his watch, our great nation will become a second-rate country on a downhill slide. In The Audacity of Deceit, Brad O'Leary takes you deep inside Obama's plans to dismantle the Second Amendment and destroy our economy while putting us in thrall to the United Nations and laying waste to all that millions of Americans hold dear. You'll learn:.How Obama's fatherless childhood mirrors that of Bill Clinton's and fuels his obsession with fame and power at any cost..How his tax plan would raise rates to a Hoover-like 60% and eviscerate America's economy..How the U.S. Treasury will become the United Nations' ATM..Why Obama wants to keep fuel prices high and Americans immobilized..The '0 to 5' initiative designed to transfer child-rearing from parents to the state. Here are the ugly facts about Barack Obama.
From the Publisher
In the shocking political expose The Audacity of Deceit, you'll learn about Barack Obama's plans to "change" our country and your life by...

* Raising taxes from the low rate of 28% under Ronald Reagan to economy-destroying 60% rate under Herbert Hoover.
* Handing out Federal medical insurance to more than 12 million aliens, and increasing emergency room costs by $15.4 billion annually.
* Appointing ultra-liberal, anti-business Supreme Court judges who would reverse the ruling that bans partial birth abortion, and the ruling that confirms the Second Amendment is an individual right.
* Would take 25% of farmland out of production to satisfy environmental lobbyists, causing increased food costs and worldwide food shortages.
* Implementing a "zero to five" program designed to transfer infant and child raising responsibilities for children under five from parents to the federal government.
* Establishing a government agency to approve what types of medical procedures and operations senior citizens are permitted to have.
* Increasing the liberal majority in Congress by allowing felons to vote.
* Waging a trade war that would eliminate 10 million American jobs and re-establish the tariff system implemented by Herbert Hoover.

As a state senator, Obama...

* Supported withholding emergency medical aid for babies who survive an abortion.

Barack Obama may be desperately tacking towards the middle in order to attract voters, but as The Audacity of Deceit proves, his real beliefs are not those of the majority of Americans.

It's a tragedy that so many are uneducated on the issues and let themselves be mesmerized by his chants.

People are in for a rude awakening. God help us if he manages to corrupt the SCOTUS. He can do more damage that way than any way else.

Obama has a BA in Socialism!?!?......Now he shows HIS true colors. I knew he was to good to be true. I tried to convince my brother that Obama was hiding something, but he insisted Obama said he was going to bring CHANGE, how do you spell communism.

During the campaign, several unbiased reporters on TV did a "man on the street" series of interviews of Obama supporters. They asked the supporters some basic questions about Obama, like what bills did he initiate, name 3 specific proposals that he has made, what were his stances on several prominent issues, etc. Virtually NONE of those supporters could answer any of the questions. When asked why they supported him, all they could say was that he was for change.
Pretty pathetic. Wait until all of his supporters see what that change means.
It means after 4 years of Obama, all that they'll have in their pockets is some loose change.

Does anybody remember Barry's VP choice saying this days before you vote for him?

Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

blogs.abcnews.com...

Why is anyone shocked Barry is using "The Politics Of Fear" now? If you are shocked, you really need to open your ears and shut your mouth every now and then.

Just as bad was Howard Stern's man who interviewed Obama supporters in Harlem. He substituted McCain's views for Obama's, and asked them if they agreed. Yes was the unanimous response.

One question asked was "What do you think of Sarah Palin, Obama's choice for VP?"

You can guess the answer.

Imagine if we look back and view the Bush presidency as the good years

I am a bit worried, he has the ability to make some pretty drastic changes I think.

I don't think anyone is shocked. Half of ATS was warning that this would happen long before the election, and the other half was and still is in denial.

Even the educated have been duped. I sit in utter amazement most days trying to figure out how he could run on a platform of "Hope and Change" and actually be elected because he's done little else to earn the rank of POTUS.

For the first time in my 40 years of life I am in awe of how easily people are led to slaughter (figuratively speaking of course... I hope). And for the first time in my adult life I know the true meaning of fear.

We can only hope that he turns out to be the saviour all of his followers seem to think he is. I'm afraid he's going to fall far short of that though.

Sad to say he will be bringing America to it's knees on that short fall.

As much as I know and all I have read.. Damn it! I really wish Obama will do something to help the world out. But not bring us into this new world order deal.. One world government.

But I know deep down he is a puppet of the trilateral commission.

However let me take a step back.. And allow him a chance. To prove me wrong.

As much as I don't want to say this.. He needs to be given time to show his true colors before you get many people on this boat.

Right now Obama has to much steam, and to many adoring fans..

The whole time on ATS.. Ive been noted as a liberal, left wing gatekeeper.
Well.. I guess now things will shift.. And those left wingers, are going to start calling me a right wing neo con.

The time will come, when I will stand fast with you, on these Obama issues.
I belive its to soon right yet.. While its a good time to be steadfast, and collecting our data. But not a good time to be on the Obama attack mode.

The time will come.. Trust me on that..
Im getting all my data together. Here take a look at these videos..
The Men Behind Barack Obama

Part 2

Oh.. Please listen to both parts in full if you are to make a comment about the videos. Otherwise they are just here in part for knowledge..

Thanks, never viewed it like that, can I use that line to.

It seems like before the elections started, I did my best to convince everyone I know to not vote for Obama or McCain, that they are the same. maybe I should have hit them over the head with the stupid stick instead.

I had ran across this the other day when it had came out. I didn't post it for fear of having it just tossed to the way side and be ridiculed for being an "Obama Hater" like times before, but this is a better place than never to share it with you on this post:

INHERITING AN EMPIRE

When Barack Hussein Obama takes the oath of office, he will receive more than the reins to the executive office of the U.S. government; he will inherit the rulership of empire, one that no American consciously voted for.

www.bestcyrano.org...

My gut is telling me there is some bad stink coming out of all of this, and though I didn't vote for either candidate, I sure hope the people who did vote for Barrack are prepared for some "Time of Change" unwanted realities?

Thanks, friend, for the Webster Tarpley videos. Much of the information that he talked about was posted by several of us during the campaign. Zbigniew Brzezinski is indeed the primary person behind Obama.
These are great videos for those who want to finally understand what Obama is all about. Good post. I've starred it.

Talk about a "Story Unfolding" , it blows my mind, but I had a feeling of dread when this all came about and Obama was carried into the electoral spotlight on the shoulders of "Doops", Just don't know what to say, guess we will have to wait and see....

Thanks for the eye opener zysin5!!

"I'll be watching forthese events on the news for sure.

The man stays silent on any decision making as he is not the president yet, and he is shot down for being a lame duck already ...
Then he actually speaks out over the current situation, is straight forward about it and gives his honest opinion and how he intends to solve it and you folks shoot him down. He does not cover the situation up or dress it up like the past conservative administrations, the kinds folks here have come to be use to.. the denial administrations... and he is called a fear mongerer.

Ironic... "the politics are fear"... just more hypocrisy from the rightwing.

There is great desperation to discredit the man, and you fellas will use anything. These elections hit you hard, you folk cant swollow the fact your president messed up so badly he was able to push history for change. Little more than bitter partisan bickering from the OP... nothing beyond that. Glad my progressive counterparts aint taking much notice.

Damn straight he hasnt, this mess happened under this current administration, promoted and praised by you folks in the past... Giving blame to somebody who hasnt even started his presidency is... well... weak. Real weak.
