Do we impact the environment by placing water in giant holding tanks, tied up in underground storage, bottled water?
If you think about it, We have lots of water tied up in underground pipes waiting for use. Water towers everywhere. We have removed a sizeable chunk of water from the earths natural water cycle. Or have we?
There is so much water on our planet can we actually make a dent in the natural cycle?
Just something I was pondering.

Two thirds of the planet is covered in water.
I doubt that cisterns, pipes and bottled water has removed a significant percentage of water from the natural cycle.
You might want to worry more about pollution, over depletion of aquifers and misuse of freshwater resources like sprinkling tens of thousands of square miles of sodded lawns and golf courses in deserts.
