By PETER SCHIFF

As recession fears cause the nation to embrace greater state control of the economy and unimaginable federal deficits, one searches in vain for debate worthy of the moment. Where there should be an historic clash of ideas, there is only blind resignation and an amorphous queasiness that we are simply sweeping the slouching beast under the rug.

With faith in the free markets now taking a back seat to fear and expediency, nearly the entire political spectrum agrees that the federal government must spend whatever amount is necessary to stabilize the housing market, bail out financial firms, liquefy the credit markets, create jobs and make the recession as shallow and brief as possible. The few who maintain free-market views have been largely marginalized.

Taking the theories of economist John Maynard Keynes as gospel, our most highly respected contemporary economists imagine a complex world in which economics at the personal, corporate and municipal levels are governed by laws far different from those in effect at the national level.

You know something. When are people going to start listening to Peter Schiff? The guy has called to the tee when and how our crisis was going to go down and still to this day is marginalized by the Keynesian addicts. Im glad this whole situation happened. I think it finally takes our country off of this pedestal of being some free market system when in reality through bailouts and economic controlling we are way worse than Hugo Chavez. When will the American people learn when oh when!!!

im with you on this but you must keep in mind

many many many many americans were and ARE agianst this bs lol

im agianst it, everyone i know is agianst it

i havent seen one person with the cahones to stand up and argue FOR it.

maybe its just my personality is so demanding and my wit bites to hard. maybe they really all think the bailout rocks, but are afraid to admit it to my face cuz they know id school them in logic and make them publically look foolish.

for some reason, i doubt that im that effective, or that i would have any such effects, therefore i presume in truth, most of these people are Agianst bailing out the richest ppl in the nation.

keep in mind, we are all losing our jobs and no ones bailing us out.

the american people dont need to be woke up anymore, they are awake

what america needs is a PLAN to cause CHANGE for the BETTER.

a good start would be
PUT THESE PPL IN PRISON
1) All top govt
2) All top wall street
3) All directing boards of almost every corporation
4) And all their "henchmen"

You know what putting these people in prison is called?
ACCOUNTABILITY!!!!
