Leaving right now is a selfish, irresponsible act and will only get you killed.

How is it selfish? How is it irresponsible? Most importantly, why would this Only get me killed. I'm so sick of the absolutes that people throw around. It's nonsense!!

There's nobody to fight, man. Who are we gonna fight? Each other?! No thank you! Everyone is at fault.

LOL, just realized I used an absolute, too!! Okay, most everyone is at fault.

Survival wise the U.S. is your best chance, especially if you speak English as your first language. The U.S. is still the bread basket of the world, and has the most useable farm land, lower density population, and more assetts.

If you leave you are leaving family friends and comrades behind. If you stay until business is taken care of you can leave if you wish, peacefully. You might not get killed, but I am sure that somebody will need you at some point. You stay and you might save a life or two.

Would love for family, friends, and comrades to join me or leave to their own destinations. As I see it, TPTB we need to fight, as in the super-rich and elite, will be long gone from this country or underground when TSHTF. They will leave us to fend for ourselves.

I don't know that I trust the average American to hold civility in such a case. Not that we need them, but many people believe we do. I think chaos will erupt partly because a lack of essential needs, and the corrupted, conditioned mindset that was injected into the masses.

Who would you be fighting exactly? I know a revolution is desperately needed right now, but don't see any sparks taking place. When the police are unfunded, who will the angry people turn against? Each other!

Let's just say that is as much a problem that the elites will have to deal with as you an I. They will not be safe in their underground tunnels and bunkers.

All their food and supplies will be held in FEMA stockpiles and their precious resources will be delivered by railways.

What makes you think that? Their illiterate, Fidel's little maid, support the terrorists, control the media, get reelected 10 times due to propaganda and corruption president. Or the fact their people cant eat oil and so will surely starve to death if socialism has its way with their country. Venezuela is a good country if you like the smell of Chaveze's but, cause your going to be kissing it allot.

Go to Hawaii or Alaska. If the US did end up with FEMA camps, then I can see how these two states will break off from the union.

Alaska in itself has huge areas of wilderness, where you can make a living on your own, but only if you're prepared.

If you're intent on living in South America, move to Cuba or Brazil. There are still dangers in these two countries, as are all countries in the world.

Well, if you are going to leave the U.S., I would suggest Costa Rica.

What? no Brazil references?

Well, I don't know if I should feel embarrassed or happy.

Anyway... when the 'excrement hits the rotating device', I intend (and recommend) to find a nice place in one of the northern coastal brazilian cities. Most of them are small, deal mostly on local commerce, have a nice and simple neighborhood, and don't have such a high cost of living.

If you don't fancy coastal regions, perhaps a vast field where you can herd your own cattle and sheep is more suited, in the south (Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states).

Maybe it's a nice forest, filled with rivers and wild game/fish you're looking for: start looking for Mato Grosso states...

In some regions over here, one can live simply with a $500/month budget (of course you're not gonna be the real McCoy, ok?)

Adding to all that natural pros, recently there have been some major political figures (both in Brazil and outside) saying that the country is the one best prepared for the economic crisis that is and will still be hitting countries around the world. Why? Exactly because we do still hold most of the key elements of survival: water and food.

Peace

IMO Southern Alaska would be a "bitter sweet" kind of situation. For one you a giant landscape to blend in and fade away. Besides the wildlife there is really exactly that... wild That means You could fish and hunt both large and big game. Hell I'm no agricultural expert but I'm sure you could grow potatoes and tougher types of food there (in the summer...).

In the other hand, you have the weather. It is the real man killer in Alaska. If you are equipped (notice i just say equipped because I think in that type of weather the only way to survive is to be very well equipped... no shades of gray here just dead or alive) and know how to survive in this type of wilderness then it would kind of not matter though.

Here's an odd one. what about essentially being a seaman. Houseboat, fishing, well you could even grow a small garden on a decent sized ship. only problem would be supplies, medical, etc..

Any more ideas about living on the high seas?

To the moderators. I'm not sure if this is in the correct thread, so if it's better off somewhere else then just move it.

Okay, I'm sick of being so freaked out. I don't buy into the FEMA coffins conspiracy and am not sure about the concentration camps.

What flips me out is that US silos are nearly depleted and food suppliers are being denied the credit needed to bring in supplies. They are working off their stockpiles which may be gone in a few months time.

I don't want to witness food riots, martial law, and the likes. Am thinking of fleeing and laying low for a while. Going to want basic necessities. Food, shelter, security. Have a truck that I can sell, and next to no debt. Thinking of saving for the next 45 days, and then ditching out.

What countries in South America are inexpensive and relatively safe? If I came up with $5,500 USD, could I live off of this for a year in an inexpensive location?

Only cowards give up and run. How can people expect things to get better after TSHTF if they run away from the problem. I plan on living in the woods till the weak and lazy die off, then when things calm down a little i want to try and unify the survivors in my area into a little community.

Belize is nice and it has plenty of seafood. It is also believed to be protected by God.

Mexico will not be safe because the illegal drug bussiness will escalate in an effort to make up for economic losses being suffered by the greedy on both sides of the border. Mexicans will resent American refugees so only use Mexico as a stepping stone to another country.

Do not go to Europe because I suspect things will be even worse over in Europe. Think about India , Greenland, and the Carribean. Now may be a good time to work on a Cruise ship.

If you let the strong and the mean kill the weak, they will also kill you. They will definitely not take kindly to you appearing out of nowheres to lead the post apocaleptic new world.

Hiding in the woods is no different from hiding in another country .Given that this country has a surveillance grid, hiding in the woods will be impossible. If you want to hide in the woods you will need to hide in some woods that are not easily assesible by roads; those woods would not be in America.

Unless you have citizenship or a permanent visa for another country you won’t be going anywhere. You can’t just get up and move to another country.

If you only have US citizenship then you’re pretty much stuck there. Look for a country you want and then start the process of applying.... can take years in some cases, and that’s if you’re lucky.

This is true of Switzerland ,but there are many third world countries which are easy to immigrate to.

It's true of most countries, not just Switzerland.... some third world countries are easy to get into, but can still be hard and still have strict immigration, and also usually you require you to show funds to be able to completely support yourself for the foreseeable future (life if not allowed to work).

It’s not as simple as just stepping of a plane; nearly every country in the world has restrictions and conditions, even the third world ones.

You forget many people who want to leave FEMA camp land are highly skilled. It will not be hard for many of them to find jobs in other countries.America has many expatriots working in foriegn countries. They are prospering.

I think you are posting about countries which can afford to pick and chose or you are posting about the kind of countries which returned Jews back to occupied Europe. Those kind of countries are to be avoided like the plague. America fell victim to greed for progress ;that's why the elites want those fema camps. I don't think that any of the developed countries are safe from this mentality.

There is a place for everyone. I hope the people who know they are targets leave now. It would also not be bad for our young adults to experience life in a different culture.
