Schrodinger had a cat or two.
I am familiar with them.

*here kitty kitty, wanna play with a box?*

biased much?

:-)

I've lived with many - of both

unable to decide which is best - truth is - no point in wondering

they all have their special ways

currently live in a canine-free environment - but not by choice

I would have elephants too - if it were practical

I really don't mean to turn this into a cat vs. dog thing - as I just said - I love them both

just on the topic of animals - and how we look at them

and, also - I do understand the difference between a house cat and a lion

but, here's a story that really got to me:
www.msnbc.msn.com...

the only real difference between a house cat and a lion is - I'm pretty sure I could take my cat in a fair fight - I think

cats, being smaller - can't compete with dogs in the hero/bravery category in quite the same way

but, they've done their part:
www.youtube.com...

I have a cat that did something very similar to this

it came about because of something that I did that was so stupid - I don't deserve the right to use fire

the circumstances will go unreported here - but, I'm sure my cat reconsidered her living arrangements after that

I have to admit, cats have their moments too.

Lots of stories of lionesses adopting baby antelope and onyx.

*sigh*

I have always been a cat person (indeed my 20 pound 15 year old solid black tom, Smokey Stinkybutt is a great friend, useless for mousing but great) until Grover Maxwell Underfoot came along and I tell ya its a toss up sometimes... I love Grover dearly, he's 7 and a half now and I hope he has a long life, but once he's gone I will probably never get another dog. He is a lot of work.

The big difference between dogs and cats though is that if you run out of food the dog will sit there patiently waiting for you to do the right thing by them... cats have no such illusions... they will kill you in your sleep and feast on the remains in a heart beat... also cats have absolutely no sense of humor.

:-)

my cat Sam has a great sense of humor - I'm serious

she sets me up all the time

she's also the one who pointed out that we were in imminent danger

so, the fact that she let bygones be bygones also says a lot

think they're a lot like people - all of them

some of them are wonderful - some of them are difficult

but, the one thing I like about them is - they're always honest - even when they're being sneaky

they are what they are

I couldn't find an emoticon that was laughing hard enough

thank you

don't know who he is - very good

and mostly true :-)

if I thought it wouldn't be derailing grovers thread completely - I would submit one of my favorites

I don't want to go to BTS jail

I've seen that before and its still funny...

... I have said before that getting congress to do anything is like herding cats so maybe if those guys get tired of life on the range maybe they can get a job with the new administration dealing with congress.

yup :-)

favorite scene is only 11 seconds in - aerial shot of cats running around in circles

that's just nuts

so, loosely connected to your OP - gotta love the critters

meant to ask earlier - is the dog in your avatar the one you were talking about?

is he part chow? because - they can be a handful

YEP!!!

That's Grover Maxwell Underfoot the great, prince of dogs. He is a 7.5 year old 45 pound chow/border collie and pomeranian mix.... hyper and chronically friendly... He's never met a stranger. He is all love.

I suspect that his mother was chow and border collie and his father sneaked up from behind.

I hope so anyway.
