Australians See Smiley Face in Night Sky

www.foxnews.com

Australians are getting a big hello from the heavens as Venus, Jupiter and a waxing crescent moon combine to create a celestial smiley face.

The best time to see the friendly phenomenon is about 20 to 30 minutes after sunset, report the News Corporation's Australian newspapers.

I find this very settling in these harsh times. Just looking at the picture made me feel somewhat happy. The smile is created by Venus and Jupiter and the moon giving the crescent shape.

To any Australians here at ATS, can you confirm this? I would love to see some pictures from your guys.

That is so cool, I'm hoping to get some snap shots tonight if the weather holds.

I find this comment in the original article rather ironic:

In the United States, the effect will be inverted and will appear as a frown.

The celestial gods are displeased with the US. What will make them smile upon the US again?

That was actually quite funny. Maybe we will get a star formation that says GET OUT NOW!
