Where there is moisture there is life. Its as simple as that.

When I clean my fishtank filter there are little tiny nematode looking things living in the sponges that obviously feed off the nutrients in the fish waste. weird and gross but much the same enviroment.

Tap water has various chemicals and nutrients in it that feed the moss/mold/ algae type stuff that is growing in your pipe and obviously some sort of larvae or microworm is also feeding off either the growth or the nutrients in the water.

You are correct on that. There are some of those things in my fish aquarium right now. They are very hard to remove from the glass as well. I had to use a razorblade. I've been looking online trying to find what both are now.

check planaria and nematodes...or if it looks like little tiny jellyfish with roots it is probably hydra.

all of these things can be managed by not overfeeding and by performing regular water changes.

oh and lots of fish will eat the nematodes and planaria.
