I have constantly heard all my life, about how the poor and lazy are the biggest welfare abusers in our society and here is the website with the definition of welfare for reference:
dictionary.reference.com...
but let me throw a different perspective into the mix, as how this may not necessarily be the case.
the wealthy in any country enjoy a completely different and foreign way of living, compared to the lives of the middle class or lower class. and we have always been told that it is their money and they have earned it, thus they should NOT have it confiscated or shared with people that did not work for it. however if the wealthy wanted to live in a completely capitalistic country, the best places would be in the countries that have the least amount of taxation and/or fees from a government entity. and the vast majority of these, are 3rd world countries. imagine if the wealthy in this country, had to build with their own money, the roads and bridges they travel on, to build entirely with their own money, sewer systems, water systems, electrical plants and transmission lines. they would have to personnally pay out of their own pocket for firemen and the equipment they use, and some type of private police force, their equipment and infrastructure. if they they wanted to fly somewhere in their private jets, they would have to personally pay for some type of airport and the manpower and equipment needed for that to function with some degree of safety. they would, like most of them do now, have to build schools, pay teachers, and maintain all the services required for that. and as far as any type of communications, they would have to pay personally for internet and phone towers and lines and/or wireless services, and hire people along with all the various infrastructure to run and maintain it. they would have to hire an army with living facilities, and the various types of weapon systems, to protect them in case of an invasion from another country, or massive group of people that didn't particularly like them. they would have to hire managers into some type of centralized entity to make sure all of these different segments are controlled and working efficently to minimize cost. if they wanted to travel in their ships or yachts, they would have to build docks and piers and staff them. and for their food they would have to personally pay for all the growing and shipping and lets not forget, personally paying for people that would make sure the food they were eating was safe. and financially they would have to build banks and investment firms and staff them with bankers and accountants for protection of their wealth. etcetera, etcetera.
i guess what i'm getting at is that alot of the civilized and modern society provide this SHARED AND SOCIALISTIC arena, so that the wealthy do not have to incur all of the costs personally. and to me that is a massive amount of welfare that is enjoyed by the top 5%, and largely financed PERCENTAGE-WISE (this is capitalized because i have had this discussion before), by the other 95% of this civilized and modern society.

This is a point I try to make to people. It is us middle/lower class who are paying, building and fighting for evrything. We built this ENTIRE world. W/out us there is no civilization.

Yet what is sad is the fact that we are the ones who suffer. If any body should be living comfortable and prosper from the blood, sweat and tears, it is the ones who are breaking their backs that should prosper.

I personally don't enjoy breaking my back and not being able to pay the bills. I'm also tired of fighting a bidding war against legal immigrants for a days pay, when i'm an American citizen and have 20 years experience in my field. It's even our fellow American who adds to the problem by hiring these poeple.

As far as I'm concerned, I would love to see the world collapse. Then we could do away with all the useless people, laws and meaningless ways of life. I know I won't have a problem surviving. As a matter of fact I won't be living much differently than I am now.

I disagree. The rich seem to be getting the most welfare these days. Didn't you hear about the bailout? That's like $700 billion in corporate welfare.

I totally agree with you. The wealthy enjoy the power and luxury it brings. I always say they got their money out of the pockets of everyone else.

The way I see it, there is a war:

(the central bankers who own and issue the money) vs (everyone else)
(central bankers who own the banks who own the oil companies not to mention also own the insurance companies and the military-industrial companies) vs (everyone else)

Power and luxury is not a scarcity, yet is is hoarded and redistributed upward from 99% of humanity to 1% of humanity ... as if it was a scarcity.

Similarly the whole "peak oil" hoax was perpetrated by a Bush (Nazi/neo-Nazi milieu) consultancy ... there is NO scarcity of oil -- it's totally contrived by oil brokers, again, those who are in partnership w/the owners of the central banks.

Similarly, the Iraq and Iran people ARE NOT our enemies ...
the central bankers are, they are the ones our military should be exterminating.

I read it, but he said that the poor abuse the welfare system the most. I just disagree with that and I think I showed why in that statement.

No he did not say that. Here is exactly what he said:

I have constantly heard all my life, about how the poor and lazy are the biggest welfare abusers in our society and here is the website with the definition of welfare for reference:

but let me throw a different perspective into the mix, as how this may not necessarily be the case.

He said that he HEARD that, but he then said that THIS MAY NOT NECESSARILY BE THE CASE.

Read the entire post, before you pull the trigger.

Poor working people on welfare are probably the HARDEST workers on the planet. I cannot stand people putting down those on welfare, especially the rich people who have their hands out for tax breaks and federal money for their businesses. I say lets take corporate welfare and feed our hungry children with it, then buy school bookks and fix our roads and health care system with the rest.
