Yeah, I have seen this before. I can't remember what it is supposed to symbolize but all the Davinci paintings are full of symbolism so its hard to
keep track. Hopefully someone who has studied these types of things can shed more light.
I mean, clearly I see the indicated area but I just don't see a goat's leg there. It looks to me just like a blurry, possibly damaged shadowy spot
on a very very old work of art.
this is a great thread, I see quite a few obscurities in the picture. Maybe I am tripping but it looks like each of the black voids to left have
paintings or something in each one and as I refocus my eyes I see a bunch of little faces stacked everywhere looking all different directions.
Interesting non the less!!
Goats used to be sacrificed. Goats aren't so dull as lambs. I don't remember where to find the old goat sacrifice ritual, but the Jesus was
supposed to represent the Last Sacrifice to God and no other man or animal was to be wasted for sacrifice after that...I think the Lamb thing has to
do with Jesus went willingly (he didn't resist arrest :lol and a goat had to be dragged or something.
Anyways, goats are not a symbol of anything more then resistance to evil ways or something. Funny how goats are in the Odhinn (Nordic) religion, and
fight for the people or something... en.wikipedia.org... - good place to start with looking into that stuff I think.
Well in the pics you posted in your OP I also see it as the front chair leg. It does look like a goat foot...but look at the back chair legs...it
looks the same as those..
