The CENTER FOR MEDIA AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS a non partisan group recently finished a study and determined which station reported on the candidates fairly and lo and behold can you guess which station came out as perfectly balanced?
Maybe this will finally stop all the Fox News bashing here at ATS since ignorance is now severely denied.

Fox News Channel's coverage was more balanced towards both parties than the broadcast networks were...

You have got to be joking, right? FoxNews first, should not even have news in their name, they are nothing but 24hour republican propoganda. Second, it's a joke when they attempt to call out other media outlets as biased. Third, please show me one instance where they have had a positive story about Obama, or a negative story about McCain....you won't find one. Every single story is pro McCain.

With that being said, yes, all of these other stations also have an agenda, but don't try to claim for one second Fox is not completely biased for the republican party. Anyone who thinks that, really needs to seek medical attention, perhaps they have a pill that can help you. Accept them for what they are, propoganda outlets for a very specific agenda, period.

The Fox News Haters won't accept this study. There is nothing anyone can say or do to convince them that Fox is a worthy news outlet.

I'm glad that this study was done and thanks for making the thread. I have a lot of Fox News haters that I will be sending the link to!

I just don't understand why the hate. it is so obvious that they are fair. Besides the study showed them at 40% negative for Mcacain and Obama. Perfectly balanced!

Okay, I'll believe that study was absolutely 100% un-bias When people stop passing around money to make people say what they want them to, that's how people convinced america that flouride is good for us, and that spreading the average wealthy persons wealth is socialism while spreading the average poor persons non-wealth is patriotism and best for our country. I can watch fox for ten minutes and tell the network is bias towards democrats and liberals in general. I can prove it, try watching a liberal even get one word in edgewise against o'Rielly, it's just not possible because the guy won't ever shut up, i know his mother taught him not to speak when someone is talking
. but i don't care because all the networks are leaning to one side. I get more useful info off the colbert report and the daily show any way.

That report is from 12/07. It compares Obama, Clinton and Huckabee. Even the report doesn't believe itself ("not a typo").

This latest report shows Obama receiving 29% positive reports from Fox compared to 65% by other news channels. While McCain and Palin receive nearly the same on all networks.

Obamamania: Since the party conventions kicked off the final phase of the presidential campaign, comments about Senator Barack Obama on the network evening news shows have been 65% positive, compared to only 36% positive comments about Senator John McCain.

The Fox Difference: On Fox News Channel, by contrast, Obama's press has been only 28% positive during the general election, even worse than the 38% positive evaluations of McCain. Palin's coverage has been 49% positive on Fox, slightly higher on than on the three networks.

I agree the major networks are favoring Obama (65%+). But while the McCain and Palin positive stories are only slightly higher on Fox. The major difference in Obama positives on Fox (29%+), shows an obvious bias.

On Fox News today, host Megyn Kelly called out McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds for the campaign’s lies about Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-IL) tax proposals. “I want to hold you accountable for what McCain is doing,” said Kelly. “Has your candidate gone too far, has he stretched the truth with the voters?”

Both Clinton and Obama are self-made men in every sense of the word: brilliant politicians, sons of absent fathers and struggling mothers, beloved grandsons, survivors who soared.

These are not men to the manor born: not sons of admirals (McCain) or Senators (Gore) or diplomats (Kerry) or Presidents (Bush), but of the American dream

This should clear things up.

As a result, FOX's coverage of the two was the most balanced, with 54% positive comments about Obama and 52% positive about McCain.

Thus FOX's summer coverage of the two presumptive major party nominees was both the most balanced and the most negative of the four networks

I dont care if some report says they are fair or balanced. I make up my own opinions. They are hateful, fear-mongering and ignorant of the world. Watching 5 minutes of Fox or CNN makes me feel anxious and nervous.

But keep watching if you like, it doesnt bother me. You should do what you feel makes you feel good. Perhaps we have a different energy.

NO MSM Outlet is "Worthy" of their name.

NONE!

Just becuase Fox actually reported 50-50 for obama-mccain DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING!

Fox ignored Dr Paul , and when they did talk about him, it was all BS spin.

NO MSM outlet gave Dr Paul a real shot.

They are all bias and fake.

I don't think its the "stories" they run that really speak to the fair and balanced issue.

To me it's the commentary before, during and after the stories that really tell the true leaning of their beliefs.

I don't get Fox where I am, but I do get most of the rest of them. CNN facinates me, the way they go over board claiming to have independant views or no bias. Heck they even have a show no bias no bull, which is a complete joke.

But anyway, it is crystal clear where they stand. The amount of people they have on there daily who are absolutely just gushing when Obama's name is mentioned, it's sickening.

You can also see them rolling their eyes any time they have to talk about Palin or Mccain. The only one I ever see question both sides is Lou Dobbs. But that is probably CNN's weak attempt at no bias, since Campbell Brown is a joke.

What joke, you imply I need a report to tell me how fair and balanced Fox is?? I'm watching it right now, it's a 24 hour non-stop republican party infomercial. Why do I need to see a report telling me anything that I can actually observe myself? Fox is sickening, there is never one bad thing about McCain or Palin on that channel. At least with CNN, Lou Dobbs rips into BOTH parties, but the rest of CNN is definitely pro Obama. Just don't even joke that you think Fox is anything but completely biased. Hannity is a little rabid dog, Oreilly is a joke, Michelle Malkin?? she's a robot programmed for nothing but republican speak. It's really laughable that someone actually thinks they are giving you anything but completely biased reporting, if you want to call it reporting. NOw, I'm not saying the rest of the stations aren't running an agenda, they absolutely are. However, we're not talking about them, we're talking about the assertation that Fox is anything but biased, which they obviously are. What planet is this?

Fox news is not conservative at all, they just pretend to be, that way they draw that crowd of people and make more $$$.

All of the Fox News executives and owners (such as Rupert Murdoch) have donated to Democrats this election and in past elections.

You seriously think if the owners of the station are liberals, they aren't going to have some sort of agenda with their news channel, they are honestly going to run pro-conservative programming?

They are definitely more conservative-leaning with their programming, but they lean towards the wrong conservative politicians purposely to make conservatives as a whole look bad. It's like the black guy who leaves a noose in a school, or the Jewish kid who carves a swastika on his door. It's subterfuge. A tactic to make your enemy look bad, by pretending to be your enemy.

Do you see what I mean?
